There was I thinking I’d posted this - along with finished stockings, if you want to make your own, the Stavely Stocking sewing pattern is available over on etsy. https://sewyarnover.etsy.com/listing/1851750261 Link also in bio and “SYO Stocking” highlight ⬆️ Note: the pattern comes with an AO option only, but the instructions doc provides instructions for printing it on A4 if preferred. #christmassewing #christmasstocking #stockingpattern #christmasstockingpattern #syostocking #stavelystocking by @sewyarnover
✨New Pattern Alert✨ The Winfell Warmie is a crochet hot water bottle cover made with one 100g skein of dk yarn (and only one end to weave in 🙌) It’s a one skein project (and helms a whole new section on my Etsy!) I spent over 30 years resolutely not a [hot water bottle] cover person, and this pattern is my 180°! It’s elevated my cosy-comfort levels no end. Need to know: 🧶 1 x 100g skein DK weight yarn - variegated or ombre yarn pairs beautifully with this pattern 🧶 4mm hook 🧶 2 x 25mm buttons Find the pattern on Etsy now! ✨CROCHET PATTERN ✨ The #Blackheathblanket is a textured, crocheted baby blanket made dk weight yarn. Basic pattern available on the blog for free, or an add-free and expanded version full of photos and stitch graphs can be found over on Etsy. The sheep sock(s) of my dreams! #socktober #sockknitting by @sewyarnover
Been knitting socks for all of 5 minutes and only started knitting in January of this year, but the over abundance of the “how had can it be!” gene means I’m already figuring out colourwork patterns for the sheep (and lemon) socks of my dreams! I can very much see, and wholeheartedly embrace, the obsession that is colourwork socks! #knitting #sockknitting #socktober by @sewyarnover
My first socks! And most definitely not the last - I have baskets full of sock yarn and two more variations of thus @stoneknits pattern (field of sunflowers) already cast in! I am unstoppable! #knittedsocks #knitting by @sewyarnover
Slowly but surely returning to crafting, psyching myself up for some epic gifting season makes - in the meantime though, socks! Never thought I’d be one to knit socks, but the algorithm showed me @stoneknits and I couldn’t be happier! #knittingsocks #beginnerknitter #crafts by @sewyarnover
Before the worst of the heatwave hit, I finished another project - this scrappy blanket. I love these blankets and am already chomping at the bit to start a new one! #crochetblanket #scrapblanket by @sewyarnover
In full-on finish allll the half done projects mode - oh the irony of finishing off a pile of hot water bottle covers in a heatwave 😅 #syowinfellwarmie by @sewyarnover
Not all the wedding sewing was for me - there were dresses (and one jumpsuit) and bow ties for the children and matching bags for my oldest niece and her mum. I loved making all of these and can’t wait to make more bits and pieces for the wee ones in my life! • The dress pattern is @lutterloh_patterns - I’ve drafted three sizes based on Next uk measurements. The sash was drafted from website tutorials. • the jumpsuit (sorry no picture) is the #ashleyoveralls by @madeeasily - loved this pattern and will be making more and the recipient loved it (which is all we ask for) • The bow tie is by @sagesewing • The bag is… you guessed it, the #pisabowbag by @kateevadesigns #handmadewedding #diywedding by @sewyarnover
Of course I had to make myself a #pisabowbag by @kateevadesigns for the day! (I cannot express my love for this bag pattern, and it holds so much its Mary Poppins worthy!) Made in the same fabric as my dress, I’ll be using this all summer!! I love this pattern and recommend it to everyone I can, so if you’ve not tried it yet, I encourage you to give it a go! #handmadewedding #diyweddingbag by @sewyarnover
SEWING GUTS The amount of hand stitching and fussy cutting that went into this bodice was bonkers! Once attached to the skirt, the bodice seam allowance was clipped and sewing down. Ribbon boning channels were hand stitched into the seams - I boned the full length of all side side seams, the centre back closure (for button structure) and 1.5” at the bottom of the front princess seams. Motifs from the mesh fabric were pinned onto the bodice and stitched in place one by one, and then the excess mesh was cut away. Finally the lining was hand stitched into place and closures sewn in! I actually love hand stitching, really I do, and it was worth every stitch! #handmadeweddingdress #diyweddingdress 🧵bodice pattern is the @byhandlondon #bhlfliradress bodice with some adjustments in by @sewyarnover
