Sez talks about the people that mean the most to him @ikkamusic @karmathelekhak @theycallmecalm @encoreabj

Sez on the Beat is one of the most influential producers in the history of desi hip-hop, but behind the records, collaborations, and milestones is a person with stories that go far beyond music. @sezonthebeat

In Part 2 of our three-part series with Sez, our host Viren joins him in the kitchen while Sez makes Chai for the entire Inqalab team. What begins as a casual conversation over Chai gradually turns into one of the most personal and unfiltered conversations we’ve had with him.

Away from the usual discussions around production and hip-hop, Sez opens up about family, faith, God, losing his father, and the people who have played an important role in his life. He also talks about the films and shows he enjoys, giving us a glimpse into the person behind some of the biggest records in desi hip-hop.

At the heart of the episode is Sez’s love for Chai — something that becomes the setting for an honest, relaxed, and deeply human conversation. With no formal setup, the episode lets us see a different side of Sez: not just the producer, but the person behind the music.

This is Part 2 of our three-part series with Sez on the Beat.

In Part 1, we stepped inside his studio and explored his vinyl collection, memorabilia, and the years of DHH history contained within that space.

Up next, Part 3: a long-form documentary tracing Sez on the Beat’s journey and illustrious career, from the early days of Indian hip-hop to becoming one of the defining producers of the genre.

Sez gives a Shoutout to RUAB, Dhanji, Circle Tone & MLHVR

@skrrtt.skrrrt @circle_tone @mlhvr

In Part 1 of our three-part series with Sez, we step inside his studio — a space that holds years of DHH history. From Seedhe Maut, DIVINE and Naezy to Karma, Ab 17 and several artists from the newer generation, some of the scene’s most important music and memories have passed through these walls.

Sez takes us through his studio and the stories behind it, while also opening up his personal vinyl collection. Along the way, he pulls out pieces of hip-hop history he has collected over the years — from old mixtape CDs and memorabilia from the early days of the scene to merchandise and keepsakes from the artists and projects that followed.

More than just a studio tour, this episode offers a glimpse into the evolution of desi hip-hop through the objects, records, people and memories of someone who has witnessed — and helped shape much of that journey firsthand.
