THOSE DAMN KIDS! 🤣🤣 jk! They cool ya’LL 💕

If anything they have taught me a lot about myself, reminded me what it’s like to a bit clueless about the world & how society/education has evolved so much that they now can be themselves so much more then when I was their age. It’s no longer taboo to be the weird kid, the flamboyant kid or autistic kid – because of this they don’t have to hide in the shadows the same as I did nor do they have to struggle due to lack of understanding in the system(it’s still there it’s just not as prominent as when I was younger).

I see their struggles like they were my own, and as someone on the spectrum who wasn’t diagnosed till my 30’s I have an understanding like no other that just because you’re different, quiet, head strong, stubborn or have different needs to others that you shouldn’t be made to feel like you’re too much or not enough. You may not even recognise those struggles or oddities you have are part of a bigger thing… but I see it 💕

Which has helped me in the past 2 years to grow as a person and see that this perspective and recognition I have that las lead me to develop this understanding from my many years on this earth have given me the gift of patience I honestly thought I’d never have with them 😅 being brutally honest here. I can rationalise when they can’t, I can stand up for them when they are too scared and I sure as heck wouldn’t allow anyone to F with any of them.

Because the ones I knock around with at uni are my fave part of going. The daily compliments on my outfits or hair or the absolute shock on their faces when I tell them my age, only for them to reply “no way you’re over 30!”. Unsure if that’s a reflection on my appearance or lack of maturity 😆 but I’ll take it.

The encouragement, support, teaching me things, learning their lingo and fact they want to hang out with me is something my fossilised self is so grateful for.

Sometimes they push my buttons, but so do 50 year olds…

And yes I’m very cringe, very millennial and very outspoken. Oh and I swear a lot but I will always have your backs 💕 #milenial #unistudent by @sezzasspectrum

The alt in your 30’s “crisis” has hit! Same girl! Here are 4 tips/words of support for your not so new you 🖤
1. Op shops are your new addiction, being alt is expenny! Alt community aren’t fans of fast fashion which is of course cheaper, however you do you(no judgement here) whatever is in your budget coz we all know how pricey merely surviving is let alone all them cute outfits. Start with what you already own & get some cute layering pieces & accessories, build from there.

2. No such things as not alt enough, I’m sorry but Gen Z can continue to cringe at how we do alt, we created it… they are technically copying us sooooo 🤫 just do you, wear colour, wear gold jewellery, wear cowboy boots(I do all the time), have normal natural hair colours & no tattoos… alt in dictionary means – different to what’s usual… so therefore you do you!

3. Don’t fall back into the skinny trap, 🪤I get it’s hard to picture yourself in some of the outfits you see when you’re doom scrolling because they aren’t on your body. I’m a weird midsize shape to, even when I did resemble a twig I had a long as abdomen so my bum crack, belly & hooha are out in almost everything 🤣 tall girl probs. I have zero shame if someone is looking at my rolls hanging out or my chub rub I’ll slap that shit while I eyeball them 😅🤭 I’m comfortable & think I look cute to F them!

4. We were forced to grow up too fast! Let’s be super realio here – we grew up in a F-ed up time & we still out here being thrown punches, so if we want to relive our teens, go back to a simpler time where we felt like we could express us & not be another robot sheep then so be it! How you dress doesn’t make you any less at work, in the home, around others. I think it makes you more a person to actually just be you, take the mask off and not give a flying rats arse - you’re over 30 anyways, I swear care factor for trivial 💩 leaves the body the day you tick over 10,950 days of life.

Birthday dinner goals 🎂 @bistro129perth CRUSHED it with 7 courses of pure bliss! We forgot to take pics of the blood orange sorbet with @littlestiller gin, because WE WERE TOO BUSY ENJOYING 😻. Can't wait to go back and test their other menu creations.

L.A California 🇺🇸 short and sweet over night stop over in the way to Hawaii spent doing the touristy stuff everyone does in the city of angels 😇

Obviously had to see the Hollywood sign 🪧 then go for a stroll down the walk of fame - which was awesome, however the hawkers harassing you to take their pamphlets etc just to scam you is brutal so just a warning ⚠️ anyways I was craving donuts so we stopped at @turndough Hollywood 🤤

Took a night drive to Santa Monica pier for a chilly but beautiful stroll, as always we were hungry and I wasn’t done craving Margaritas so we went to @redocantina for some of the top Mexican food we had in the USA 🇺🇸 their Margaritas were to die for, their range was elite - K really enjoyed his spicy 🌶️ marg so much so he hasn’t found one he’s liked so much since(for someone who usually loves a whiskey he sure was downing them margs in the states 🍸).

Like I said short over night excursion ✅

@elkabronbali 🍹sunset theatre was the BEST ending to an epic little getaway to Uluwatu 🏝️

If you love a high end beach club vibe, with killer views, sunsets, great food and margaritas - then you have to book the sunset theatre for sunset dinner here 🥩🌮🍹☀️

El Kabron is EXTRA af! They even have a dj in the bathroom. Full party pee pee life 🍾 epic!

4 years married 💍 💕✈️ we celebrated a little early as tonight we are attending friends wedding here in Uluwatu☀️

Our early celebration was at the stunning @teja_uluwatu which had gorgeous sunset views over the water & delicious food 🎣 🥩 we also enjoyed a few cocktails 🍹

Can’t complain about a sneaky little excuse for a holiday at our anniversary after a hectic year so far and no holidays for either of us since America 🙀

🏒 St Paul, Minnesota 🇺🇸 finally got to watch a hockey game! Bucket list for K was to watch his team play a home game(Minnesota Wild) and it just so happened that the timing meant that not only did he tick that off his bucket list but I ticked mine as they were playing my team(Dallas Stars - who of course won 😜). The real highlight though was the atmosphere in the massive @xcelenergyctr with all the roaring fans but also seeing NHL live - we are hockey mad if you didn’t already figure.

A little trip out to @mattsbar_jucylucy for the iconic Minnesota jucy Lucy 🍔 we lined up for ages as this is a popular place… SO WORTH IT! The cheesey lava inside that Pattie was everything 🤤🧀 legit going to be dreaming about jucy Lucy now 🤭

Chasing waterfalls @minnehaha.falls for a cold stroll through the park to see the falls 💧

Diner breaky @mickeysdiningcar 🚃 what a cute old school little diner in heart of St Paul!

Spent half a day walking around America’s largest mall - @mallofamerica 😮 wow! Theme park, Lego land, m&ms world… every shop and restaurant on this earth, massive aquarium… you name it this place had it! We didn’t even see it all, my feet were hurting by the third hour of walking around! Insane!

Oh and the best chilli we’ve ever eaten 🌶️ after the masses of junk we had been eating and the temp drop of going north we were craving a homestyle comfort meal and this chilli @looncafest.paul did not disappoint 🤤 was so damn good! And we got to watch the hockey with a red wine at the same time so was a win!

We didn’t spend long in Minnesota, honestly if it had snowed & we had more time I would of loved to see some of the scenery near the border but we made the most of the few days we had there, the stars whooping the Wild was the highlight 😜 💚 well for me anyway!

Chicago, Illinois 🇺🇸 my fave big city 🏙️ because it’s old school architecture + charm + food 🍕

We rocked up and went for a little walkies whilst waiting to get into our hotel where we met a street artist who was also a dog walker, who was walking my now furry friend Auckland ❤️ I know, very ironic. Anywho we also stopped @mr.beefchicago for a sandwich and it was 🤤(if you’ve seen the bear then you know the place).

Once we got into our first hotel since Dallas 😲 I was super happy to be out of the RV and in a real bed, with a bathroom 🙌 but we didn’t hang around long because we are fatties who wanted deep dish pizza, bread sticks & the most divine salad 🥗 @ginoseast

After rolling out of bed still full from 🍕 I was dying for an amazing bagel 🥯 and we found them 🤤 @gothambagelschi fuel we needed for our big day wandering around out in the cold of Chicago….

Of course I had to “flick the bean” and we saw old mate Abe Lincoln 🫘 🤣 before going up 103 floors to @skydeckchicago Kris was daring enough to go out onto the glass platform but that’s not for me 😱 the elevator ride up was enough anxiety for one day thanks 🤣 gorgeous views over Chicago & Lake Michigan though was totally worth it!

Finished off our few days in Chicago with some famous @portilloshotdogs 🌭 Chicago trip has to include a river architecture tour even if it means near freezing to death 🥶 then warming back up with possibly the best and most fancy steak sanga & wine I’ve ever had @smithwollensky 🥩

🍗 KENTUCKY - Corbin & Louisville 🇺🇸

We drove hours out of our way just to goto the original Kentucky Fried Chicken 🍗 out in Corbin, was worth it as the KFC lovers we are. The museum was awesome, before colonel Sanders had @kfc he had a little motel & restaurant which is where the museums now stands with of course a modern KFC attached. As for the food - well let’s just say my brain was altered by this KFC & no KFC will ever compare 🤤 it was everything! (I’m near crying looking at the pics coz it was so good and I want more but Aussie KFC is trash compared).

We headed off to Louisville where we went for breaky @brownhotel for a Hot Brown 🤤 dang it was good! Basically it’s an open turkey sandwich with bacon and mornay sauce… yum! I might have to try recreate it sometime. Off to downtown where we went past the slugger museum before hitting up the @frazierhistorymuseum which was filled with bourbon history amping other cool Kentucky history 🥃 we kinda needed a bourbon or two after this so we found us a bar above the @evanwilliamsbourbon

We know I love me some old houses so we trotted off to old Louisville to check out the Victorian architecture 🤩 we were lucky enough to get a look inside the Conrad-Caldwell house which was beautiful & decorated for Christmas 🎄

🤠 NASHVILLE, Tennessee 🇺🇸 would I go back here for a night out on broadway again? FUCK YES! 🙌

When we rolled into our KOA RV park we knew we were in country music city 🎶 damn was I excited! First dinner @aquariumrestaurants Nashville which was not only a decent feed but super cool to just watch the sea life swim by 🐟 then we headed off to @opry which was another bucket list item ticked off ✅ for my little country music loving soul 🤠

Next day was filled with more country music stuff @countrymusichof where I got to drool over Luke Combs, Wallen, Jelly Roll, Lainey, Johnny Cash & brother from down under Keith… but really I was there for Mr K Roger’s 😍 oh and I took a photo of the TayTay stuff for @tarlaye.platt & you other swifties 😉

So day drinking & live music cranking 24/7 is natural in Nashville & I was in my element loving both of those things 🤣

anyways we went out for a night on broadway where we drank some whiskey of course @downtown_bigmachinedistillery 🥃 before heading off to almost every other bar in town… we ended up at Jason Alden’s where we both got very wasted & sang country road at the top of our lungs… if you know my husband you know he’s a full metal head so for me this was a highlight of our trip 🤣❤️ and yes I muted it hehe maybe another post I’ll unmute. Oh yeah the interesting humans downtown are definitely out and about, the homeless signs were hilarious, have to give them props for sense of humor 😜

Okay so we also ate some drunken street hotdogs 🌭I had a Chicago and K had a chilli dog. The next day the hang over was quite real so we tried some Tennessee BBQ @jacksbarbque - I wish we loved Tennessee BBQ as much as Texas bbq but sadly we didn’t, however their sides were better then most we had in Texas so that was a bonus, and that bbq is exactly what we needed with how dusty we felt 🤭

Nashville is crazy, it’s also beautiful & full of really interesting people. The cowboy life is definitely for me & if anything being out in the country music scene really made me want to get back into singing… 🎶let’s see if that happens.

Chattanooga, Tennessee 🇺🇸🍂 Tennessee in the fall(Autumn) fulfilled all of my fall leaf colour dreams 😍 Chattanooga was so pretty, a lot less hectic then other places we had been and the food was top tier.

Had to visit the iconic Chattanooga Choochoo 🚂 we did a sneaky to a look out point to watch the sunrise over 7 states 🇺🇸 before seeing them again in daylight from the beautiful @seerockcity Rock City Gardens. Then the most breath taking underground waterfall @rubyfallscave ❤️ I literally had no words(see my full video on my feed).

🍗 @tupelohoneycafe southern fried chicken burger & sandwich 🥪 were legit to die for 🤤 I’m drooling thinking about that burger but damn the Mississippi mud pie was unforgettable & everything I ever dreamed one to be 🥧

🎷New Orleans, Louisiana. What an iconic epic place! Especially to spend Halloween 👻

🥃 Bourbon street during the day vs at night is two different worlds, nonetheless day time bourbon is still full of Jazz music & day drinking… including cute cocktails @nolavampirecafe 🧛‍♀️ where we also got a sneaky invite to a real life vampire bar which we went to on Halloween, it’s a photo free venue so couldn’t take any photos so you’re going to have to take my word for it when I say if you love punk, metal, rock and heavier music then you MUST go 🧛‍♂️

We tried the famous @cafedumonde beignets in the garden district 🍩 they were everything every food blogger says they are 🤤 best part was that we avoided the massive queues since we went to the garden district cafe which also was set in a gorgeous park in a beautiful old style building. Then we hopped on some bikes 🚲 for a look at the beautiful Victorian, Greek revival and Creole architecture 🏠 if you’re a lover of old houses & cemeteries you have to goto the garden district for a look around, especially if you’re an American Horror Story Fan - you probably recognise the Coven house 🧙

We went on an evening ghost tour back in the main bourbon street area with our amazing guide who told us heaps of funny but also scary real stories about NOLA’s history, especially in regards to Voodoo & vampires. But also lots of very awful prohibition stuff that went on in the street we walked around, we also got to street drink in this tour which for us Aussies is rare due to it being illegal here 🤣 if I’m honest it did feel naughty to walk out of the bar with my drink! Had a late night dinner in the very fancy @dickiebrennanssteakhouse 🥩 which has the best au gratin(if you ask @oz_foodaddicts he will tell ya it was the best fucken potato bake on earth - in those exact words 🤣).
