CONNIE CHAN for US Congress, District 11

Since June, Connie has racked up even more endorsements, including from her former opponent, Saikat Chakrabarti, whose newly-created Solidarity PAC has invested in building out her reach. It’s a promising collaboration, and an example of the kind of big tent collaboration that we need more of on the progressive left. At a time when electoral politics has turned many voters off with its insane corporate spending, insider baseball and toxic attacks, it’s refreshing and hopeful to see progressives working to support each other through resource sharing and policy cross-pollination.

JANE KIM for CA Insurance Commissioner

Since sweeping the June primary (and securing more votes statewide than Bernie Sanders did in his presidential run in California!) Jane Kim has continued to highlight the corrupt and largely unregulated insurance industry that is driving up costs for working Californians. We endorsed her back in June, based on her track record and platform – and we’re excited to double down on that support as Jane faces a deluge of dark money in her fight to represent us all.

GARY McCOY #1 & MICHAEL NGUYEN #2 for District 8 Supervisor

Gary’s lived experience as a recovering addict and survivor of homelessness have informed a public service career in City Hall and beyond, on issues ranging from public health to housing. As the former Vice President at Healthright360, Gary worked with the Department of Public Health to strengthen healthcare services to over 9,000 low-income individuals annually, and has been an articulate champion for Housing First policies which, (despite having a 80%-90% success rate of keeping people housed after one year and being proven to reduce public costs, including emergency room visits, hospitalizations, and jail stays), have come under relentless attacks from the Trump administration.

We also recommend Michael Nguyen as a #2 in this local ranked-choice race. As an attorney, and community organizer, he is uniquely positioned to understand the intersection of how changes to law can help or hurt communities. As an established drag performer, he also understands the importance of art & culture to o by @sf.propel

Our local proposition endorsements and breakdowns are live! It’s a long ballot with lots of important decisions, especially when it comes to protecting our democracy, building affordable housing, and fighting Billionaire-backed corruption.

If you like the sound of bringing down rents and being able to vote out corruption in City Hall, screenshot our cheat sheet for the ballot booth and share our takes with your friends and family.

It’s also okay to disagree! We welcome a different take, but the important part is that you’re educating yourself, thinking critically and engaging with our beleaguered political process. She needs you now more than ever! by @sf.propel

Public banks can be a smart tool for reinvestment of taxpayer dollars, giving local government the ability over time to ease financial roadblocks to affordable housing construction, low-cost small business loans, and green infrastructure priorities.

In this final part of our explainer series on affordable housing policy, Sasha Perigo, a writer and housing advocate based in San Francisco, explains how the institution of a public bank would benefit all San Franciscans.

(A good reminder to vote @yesonpropb before Nov 3rd, so we can make history with our own public bank here in S.F.!) taken in San Francisco, California by @sf.propel

Join us in voting to REJECT three SF propositions that aim to increase billionaires’ power and undermine democracy. Billionaires are spending millions of dollars on these propositions to lock tenants and workers out of the political process.

Swipe through to learn why we're voting NO on Props D, E, and F!

Illuminating (and scary?) talk with Gil Duran and Emily Mills discussing the ideological and financial ties that connect extremist powerbrokers like JD Vance and Peter Thiel to Silicon Valley elites and their designs on San Francisco democracy.

For more on the damaging impacts of the Tech Oligarch takeover of S.F. and its connection to the corporate authoritarian regime driving the nation’s affordability, public health, economic, and environmental crises, check out Gil Duran’s book “The Nerd Reich” at your local independent bookseller.

While the details of his investigation are harrowing, there is hope. Sign up for PROPEL’s newsletter in bio to learn how you can fight back taken in Club Fugazi by @sf.propel

Hundreds of renters and tenant organizers convened for the first time in over a decade to address San Francisco's affordability crisis, which has been marked by record-breaking rent hikes, buy-outs and evictions— as City Hall politicians have aggressively courted Big Tech/AI wealth concentration.

Tenants are organizing, though -- and there's renewed energy to work across backgrounds and neighborhoods to build up new tools for affordability and renter protections.

Sign up for PROPEL's newsletter (in bio) to get updates on new policies, resources and convenings happening citywide. And join the fight to get Prop I's Affordable Housing Guarantee Act passed this November 3rd by visiting the link in our bio -- it's the only ballot measure to dedicate funding to rent relief and eviction protections, in addition to affordable housing!

Yes on Props B, C and I for a real Affordability Agenda this autumn!

San Francisco, the home of “Full House,” is where almost no one can afford a house.
That is why we’re fighting to pass Prop I a measure that will raise $120 million dollars per year for affordable housing, homelessness prevention and more without raising taxes on San Franciscans.
