When all my friends in LA think my leap from music industry to hockey was “so random” and “out of left field”

About a month ago, I started a TikTok account to practice my hockey commentary. I wanted to figure out what DO fans want to hear, and how could I grow the game through storytelling as a journalist.

I started this project where I’ve been giving NHL teams good reward stars for knowing their market and how well they do at reaching their fanbase.

The Ducks opening night mask was the PERFECT example of this sort of engagement, and via my video, they reached out and invited me to do some commentary for my socials at the game vs Winnipeg last night.

(Also, in my post-game report that I recorded BEFORE puck drop, I predicted Carlson’s game winning goal 😂)

Thank you so much @anaheimducks for having me and believing in me early in my journey! 🦆

What city should I visit next?

LOL but in all seriousness, I had an incredible time meeting up with the team in Nashville and getting a closer look at what a road day of broadcasting looks like. Thank you @darylevans15 and @carrlynbathe for sharing your insights and expertise with me! 🏒 by @sf.rinkside

Definitely one for the memories - for my first @nhlbruins game at TD Garden to be THE homecoming of lifetime player and captain, Brad Marchand. Growing up in Connecticut, right between New York and Boston loyalty, I’ve had a lifelong disdain for the golden ‘B.’ Perhaps it was the tribute tugging on my heart strings or maybe the drunken season ticket fans up in the rafters who were so happy to share their love of the team….last night was special, and I (off the record) couldn’t help myself but to cheer along with the crowd. taken in TD Garden by @sf.rinkside
