A huge congratulations to Kamara Hutchins, one of our own, for winning first place at the 4th Annual SFA Entrepreneurship Competition! Way to go! 🥇

"The first-place prize of $10,000 went to Banz Braiding, a hairstyling business that blends “affordability, trend-savvy technique and unmatched convenience — all from a dorm-room chair,” by Kamara Hutchins, sophomore computer information systems major from Fresno, Texas.”

🚨 Chaos & Coding: The 50th Annual Programming Contest 🚨

Well, nothing says "Welcome to the 50th Annual Programming Contest" like the power going out right before the start! ⚡️😂

In true Computer Science fashion, we stayed calm, pretended it was all part of the "simulation," and quickly adapted — students checked out laptops like they were surviving a coding apocalypse. Thankfully, we had the equipment ready… because you can take our power, but you can't take our WiFi!

At one point, Dr. Ironsmith was even threatening to break out the punched cards and do this thing old school. 🧾😂

Meanwhile, HackerRank decided it was the perfect time to push a surprise update — because obviously we needed more drama. Oh, and our trusty CS server? It was, of course, down for "routine maintenance." 😴

Despite the perfect storm of tech chaos, the contest went off with a lot of laughs, a ton of brainpower, and $900 worth of prizes handed out in awards and door prizes! 🏆🎉

Huge thanks to NacSpace for sponsoring the event and everyone who participated, stayed flexible, and made this one of the most memorable contests in SFA history. Here's to 50 years of programming — and proving that no power outage, no surprise update, no sleepy server, and no punched cards can stop our Lumberjacks from crushing code! 🤘🪓
