One of the things I do for fun is social dancing ! I love improvisational dances like salsa where there is so much happening melodically and there is room for creative expression. Always fun @bleak_hawk thanks for the dance 💃 @aatmadance @pasofinodance celebrating 21 years ! Crazy I took one of my very first salsa / bachata classes way back when there. Felt good to dance improv / social dancing is such a good way to get out of your head and into the moment since it’s not choreographed you have to be present with your partner and the music 🎶 by @sg_creativ

Thanks again to @getupanddanceatlanta for having me as a featured pro for their showcase tonight! I enjoyed getting to create this piece this past week. I’m also proud of my student @susiecarson who also performed her first ever solo before and her hard work these past couple of months! by @sg_creativ

@garyvee thanks for always inspiring me to take messy action and just go for it! Helpful for a recovering procrastinator / perfectionistic here is to just trying shit and living life bravely. by @sg_creativ

Day 13 – Creative Day Off: No structure—just create something that feels right in the moment.

Vietnam War. Christmas Eve. Choosing to fly again despite any fear that might have been felt during the inherent danger involving risking his life for love of his country. Rescuing POWs whose only hope was his engine powered plane blades revolving above. One more flight cost everything. His wife and family at home thinking they would wake up to a magical day were instead devastated. My papa, a major in the air force, was marked by honor and courage. I wish I could have known him. I’ve been told he was kind, smart, larger than life. Today, this Memorial Day, I honor his memory and all the other men and women who served and sacrificed their lives for our freedom today. I hold in my heart those still grieving and send you all of the love on this day as you remember your loved ones as well. by @sg_creativ

Day 11 – Free Movement: Dance without choreography—just feeling the music and your body. Today was hard and very emotional. I really didn’t want to do this challenge and this prompt but sometimes what you don’t want to do is what you need to do. I committed to doing this for myself to overcome perfectionism one challenge at a time. To give myself permission to just be and express. It can feel very vulnerable but I think that’s where courage and freedom are. I’m grateful that I have my faith and family to lean on. by @sg_creativ
