ANTICAT 2023 🚫🐱

On Saturday, 35 racers and their friends showed up to the ride of their life, competing for prizes including a Norco Two50 frame.

Within 3 categories, the top scorers were:

FIXED:

1. Venturaman - 65 points
2. Adam Do #246 - 58 points
3. Tomás and Mike - 56 points

OPEN GEARED

1. Milo Nixon - 63 points
2. Satchel - 58 points
3. Andrew Royce - 54 points

WTFNB GEARED

1. Emilia Grijic - 43 points
2. Ruby Moon - 40 points
3. Coreen and Jessica Lai - 34 points

DFL: Santos Bikes - 3 points

To run this race has become the highlight of my summer. Being able to get the community together and create memories through a race that's a little... different and hearing stories of people's adventures completing the manifest is what makes this race so rewarding to me.

Before I even got to race day, the biggest players in this were my sponsors and collaborators.

@theokaps Graphic Designer: Creating the posters and spoke card design, Theo helped bring the vibes and vision of this race to life.

@bikesonwheels : Bikes On Wheels have been immensely supportive of Anticat since day 1 and i knew without asking that I would have their backing once again for this year's race. Jack from BOW was a key player in ensuring we had a venue at which we coud finish the race and a staging area where we could hand out prizes.

@doask1d @nofunpress @atwateratelier @daytripper.cc @squidbikes : these guys provided sick prizes to really fill up the prize packs and make registration well worth it. Huge for making a commitment to supporting the community and being visible in the cycling scene.

For race day, i would like to extend huge thanks to racers and spectators. Seeing photos and videos of the event brought to life was amazing!

Lastly, i want to thank my friends who showed up to provide extra support in delivering prizes, registration, manifests, setup, scoring and takedown. I was unfortunately in an accident the day before the race which left me concussed, unable to bike and without the use of my left hand. Thanks to them, Anticat was still able to happen.

Thanks to the incredible support from the community, I am thrilled to announce Anticat 2023!

Categories will be:

FIXED
WTFNB GEARED
MENS GEARED

Race day is September 23rd 2023.

Registration is $10 and will start at 4:00PM at Queens park in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Estimated start time is 4:30PM. Estimated finish will be 6PM-6:30PM at @BikesonWheels

YOU WILL NEED
-A bike
-Lights
-HELMET
-Phone with a Camera
-PEN/MARKER
*bike locks optional

@bikesonwheels - your friendly neighbourhood bike shop catering to the cool cats of Toronto and all their bike-related needs. This shop provides quality service, parts and advice to everyone from the casual commuter to the seasoned pro.
