this film is still the best modern depiction of lgbtq in bollywood 🫶
and yes, i liked rajkummar as a gay man in badhaai do but i loved him even more as sahil mirza, an ally, in ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga, exactly what darshan raval meant when he sang "deewani lahron ko jaise SAHIL mila" 🤍

first imtiaz ali film in the theater : #mainvaapasaaunga (2026) 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
this was a film i was excited about even before the official announcement. a film i tried to be up to date about through my friend @vedangloml and yes credits to her for helping me be so. and all of this was out of my respect for @imtiazaliofficial sir's work. from 'socha na tha' to 'jab we met' to 'love aaj kal' to 'rockstar' to 'tamasha' and now this. your work will always touch my heart.
naseer saab is a once in a century talent for our country. from watching him in classics like ijaazat, masoom and jaane bhi do yaaro to growing up admiring his work in a wednesday, the dirty picture, dedh ishqiya and now main vaapas aaunga.
@vedangraina , our jigra, my starboy, you aced your 2nd theatrical release. keenu will always have a soft corner in my heart. from seeing you as the flamboyant reggie in the archies to a traumatised young boy, ankur, falsely accused of acquiring drug and put behind the bars in thailand, i was always in awe. ik you were a nerd in school, 94% and 96%, but i am so glad that you chose acting over bitsat and jee. i am so glad that archies happened to you otherwise you would have been pursuing mba right now. also i am so happy that we have a actor in this new generation who playbacks for himself just like ayushmann khurrana did in the previous generation. and you owe us a concert, okay ? keep shining my kashmiri boy <3
@sharvari , if i had the choice of becoming a mainstream bollywood actress and was asked if there's someone who's career graph i would love to replicate, it would be yours. from debuting with a web series directed by kabir khan to debuting in the big screen alongside saif ali khan and rani mukherjee. having a superhit film like munjya as your second theatrical release. and the next 3 ? well, no who's doing it like you ? imagine being an imtiaz ali heroine and a sooraj barjatya heroine in the same year. and what is this magic you have created in mva with jiya !? you are undoubtedly the jiya (heart) of the film <3 keep growing !
lastly, please watch this film in your nearby theater now because you will definitely call it a gem on instagram after 5 years :) by @sgud_30

whenever we talk about the best indian directors of all time, names like guru dutt, raj kapoor, yash chopra, satyajit ray, sanjay leela bhansali, mani ratnam, rajkumar hirani and anurag kashyap pop up in our minds but what about the man who redefined the genre of thriller in hindi cinema ? vijay anand was one of the most prolific filmmakers from the 60s and early 70s whose name has now faded away but his films haven't. from a breezy romcom like "tere ghar ke samne" to a thought provoking masterpiece like "guide" and from an entertainer like "johny mera naam" to blockbuster thrillers like "teesri manzil" and "jewel thief", he made it all.

will soon make such posts on pramod chakravorty and manmohan desai.
