If you’re a fan of Sichuan cuisine and mala spice, check out Pepper Tavern in San Gabriel, CA!

@pepper_tavern is a Chinese restaurant specializing in Sichuan food, and they know how to turn up the heat!

You’ll find all kinds of spicy Sichuan and Chongqing dishes, but they also have non-spicy dishes too like their tea smoked duck.

One of my favorites is their new mala stone crab dish! So flavorful (but also very spicy), and delicious with a bowl of rice.

Elevated Taiwanese cuisine in LA?

If you’re curious Taiwanese cuisine with a modern, elevated twist, check out @bmagpie886 !

This Taiwanese fine dining restaurant in Arcadia is stunning, from the gorgeous interior decor to the presentation of the food.

Chef Nono is from Taiwan, and the menu is inspired by traditional Taiwanese dishes and flavors.

They have a regular a la carte menu and also occasional limited seasonal tasting menus.

I tried their Mid-Autumn Festival tasting menu over the weekend, and it as delish! It was 14 dishes for $125, and I was stuffed!

They also have a full bar with Asian-inspired cocktails. Many of them are tea-forward or incorporate Asian flavors and ingredients like pi pa gao, winter melon, osmanthus, longan, and more.

Can’t wait to see what they put out next.

If you love XLB dumplings aka soup dumplings, but hate waiting in line at Din Tai Fung, here’s a dupe for you!

Honestly the xiao long bao dumplings here at @princedumplingusa were so good and juicy!

They were full of soup, flavorful and thinly wrapped!

The pan fried pork dumplings were also delicious! They were juicy, fluffy, and crispy on the on the bottom.

Other must gets - dried scallop and egg white fried rice, and chili wontons.

Don’t forget the dessert dumplings! They have chocolate xlb dumplings, taro, red bean, and sesame!

Find quali-Tea drinks and the viral Dubai chocolate - inspired series at this boba tea shop in Hacienda Heights!

I love getting my tea fix at @thetea_hh because their tea drinks are tasty, and they use high quality ingredients!

They also have unique creation and drinks, like the limited time Dubai chocolate series.

You can get a strawberry Dubai chocolate cup, a crackle blended matcha cup (so refreshing), a Dubai chocolate cream Sando, and dark chocolate Dubai chocolate bar!

They use matcha from Uji, pistachio cream from Italy, and real Belgian chocolate, so you know you’re getting premium ingredients!

Who else grew up eating the Taiwanese sizzling hot plates? 😋

There is something comforting, nostalgic, and delicious about them!

Especially with the black pepper sauce and egg. 😋

You can also find these at some HK cafes too.

I usually get chicken or fish, but the steak here was pretty good!

You can find this at Cowboy’s Cafe in Hacienda Hts!
