Spent a lazy Sunday afternoon in the backyard. Knocked out a bunch of schoolwork — not exactly fun — but I made sure to sneak in some Kendama breaks and hang out with the kids. Definitely the best parts of the day.

Busy day so far! Submitted a 24 page final paper for school and then got out for a long walk this morning at Bells Mill Park. The kids had a blast down by the water and seeing all the birds. When I say, 'When I was a younger man...' what I really mean is "before we had kids."

When I was a younger man, I had all this extra time to dedicate to learning and developing silly niche skills. This yoyo trick is kind of mechanically involved — horizontally thrown, finger grinding between the legs, jumping, and finishing with a fancy DNA. I'm just grateful I got a few minutes to attempt and (somehow) landed it.

Sunsets over water are few and far between on the east coast. Lucky for us, the town boat launch lines the CT river up perfectly for a gorgeous view in late summer. Decided to run down quick after dinner, the kids had a blast, so did I! by @shabibo

Kids are starting school next month, very surreal. We've been enjoying summer, celebrating America's 250th was awesome! Music on the water is our Monday routine, the kids have gotten a ton of berry picking in, farm chores are an every night thing. Ice cream is often on the menu (maybe a bit too much), tree climbing is encouraged and swimming in the pool is basically a bath some nights. I couldn't ask for a better crew to spend my life with. These littles sure are growing up fast and I find it's hard to stop and soak it in sometimes. I'm so damn proud of them! by @shabibo

Took the canoe out for a trip on the pond today, wicked stoked. Kids were great! Decided to name her Paid Time Off after the song in this video. The album The Great Divide have been our soundtrack this spring into early summer, we LOVE IT! by @shabibo

75% of the way through my chicken coop build. A ton of progress all in one day!
Leveled the platform, rocked in the footers
Put the walls up
Built the final wall
Threw the frame for the roof on
Custom cut and installed the tongue and groove siding from my neighbor
Cut out the windows
Installed the metal roofing

Not too much left on this project, just need to keep the bird alive until they get to move into the big house. Then we can put quail in the little coop they're in now! by @shabibo

What an AWESOME spring we've had so far! I can't quite describe how fast time is flying by. Every day is something new, there is always something that needs doing and it seems like every night we've left it all on the table and there's still more on the list. While that sounds like a nightmare, it really isn't. I'm having a blast and I know these kids are too! by @shabibo

Celebrated a big birthday for the biggest little guy! Pip has had one hell of a wild year, and we've successfully weathered his terrible 2's. Fun fact, it took Stacie about 4 hours to bake and decorate his cake - and it took me about 14 hours to make his brisket. So I love that boy 3 times as much as @thebuggjar. It's just math. by @shabibo

We had a wonderful long Easter weekend visiting my big brother in PA. I spent a lot of Easter's in PA as a little kid running around hunting eggs at my Great Grandma's house. She made this wamadine lemon meringue pie, I really miss that. I know it's not the thankful holiday, but I'm so glad my kids get a similar experience. FYSA, the running theory is that the Easter bunny is secretly a platapus masquerading as a rabbit. by @shabibo
