😭 (but in a good way). Saturday night. We’re beginning 2021 and ending the nearly 9 years of Shack Ministries in expectation for the Lord to be beginning new chapters for ministry in Orange County. It’s bittersweet. Ending like how we began on may 19th 2012 - worship, prayer & praise reports. We’ll be doing the joy jar reading too, which is always sick. The location is Seaside’s warehouse’s parking lot, 21601 Surveyor Cir Huntington Beach, CA 92646, and the time is from 6-8 pm. SHACK EVENT 🗣🗣 Saturday night from 6-8 pm we’ll be having our christmas party! White elephant gift exchange is back — bring a wrapped gift that’s $10 or less, the weirder the better. SHACK SERVES 🗣🗣 Saturday morning at 9am we’ll be meeting at @voiceofrefugees to distribute foods into bags and then deliver them to houses of refugees in Anaheim! *As stated last time, Anaheim has one of the most densely populated areas of refugees in the nation.* Join us to do good in the name of Jesus! We will be sorting food that will be distributed to the refugee community in Anaheim — one of the largest refugee populations in the US! We’ll be gathering this Saturday at 8 am for a beach clean up in Sunset beach, meeting on the beach at 19th st! During this weird season, we have decided to switch things up from our normal flow and are now doing ✨1✨ worship night and ✨1✨ service project each month — and this is the first service project! We request that you wear a mask and observe social distancing. What a year!!! It has been nearly 5 months since we have gathered together as a community, aside from one-on-one discipleship’s, and we are excited to get the ball rolling, even if it is at a very slow pace! We are going to start ✨regathering responsibly✨! Reason being, and the reason why we have waited such a long time, is that we want to be above reproach in every way - honoring Jesus as we honor government regulations. As we see other communities begin to regather, we’re taking ideas from them! We are going to continue holding off on weekly gatherings and will instead host bi-weekly events (outside) to ease back into normal flow (or as normal as we can get). This will consist of parking lot worship nights, prayer walks, and various serving opportunities. With that being said, here are some expectations for those attending in our community: 1) Stay home if you’re not feeling well 2) We request that you wear a mask, as the Shack Lead team will all be wearing one 3) Observe social distancing and respect other people’s preferences. 4) If you have been around someone that tested positive for COVID please get checked before attending. That being said, we’re excited to start seeing familiar faces again! (as we kinda already have been seeing at coffee shops). 8 years of Shack Ministries! Absolutely insane. 8 years ago today i gathered together with 7 other friends in the pool house in my parents’ backyard that i had just moved into and had a 45min worship session followed by pizza in Newport. There was a moment during the worship set that I thought “this is rad, we should do this again next week.” Where we are today is a result of many “next weeks.” We began in a pool house and moved on to many many different locations that have graciously opened their doors to us over the past years, have had around 5 art walks to give the opp for creators to share how they bring glory to the Creator, became a non-profit (photo # 5), have had a couple summer retreats, countless “family dinners,” baptism nights, and and seen many people be united together as one big family in Christ. What a ride. I am so looking forward to meeting with everyone again after this pandemic blows over, but even in the midst of it i want to praise God with you all — never cease your worship toward the Lord!!
