One year since the release of Konichiwa & the start of @shadowplay.records it’s been such a fun journey starting a new label and rolling out an album. Thanks to all the support. Despite the shift in the music industry one thing has stayed true… Good music brings good people together! We’re just getting started & Neon summer is here. My mantra these days is “we’re having fun”! And we will continue to enjoy the process against all odds let the music play let the people come together. 🌈❤️‍🔥🏴‍☠️ taken in Roppongi, Tokyo by @shadowplay.records

“Neon Summer” by @jacksonenglund out now on all platforms.

Neon Summer’s bitter sweet nostalgia is an ode to those warm summer nights and adventurous moments that summer has to offer. It feels like a warm hug from your lover or best friend. A reminder to enjoy the moment, embrace love and to show up for your people when they need you.

With elements of indie rock, electronic, & synthpop. Neon summer creates an atmosphere that can be heard in many different environments. Whether you’re driving down the coast, hanging out with friends, or on your way to the next adventure this songs got you.

This summer anthem is a moment caught in time, Jackson Wrote Neon Summer when the world was at an all time high the last summer before the pandemic… The first draft was written on the floor of @lookintothewell art studio as they worked on their art together. That free spirit energy planted the seed. Though it’s been years since the inception it gave him the opportunity to bring on some extremely talented collaborators and finish this song to the best of his ability.

We want to show some love to @leecurtiss & @jean_michel_lapointe for their help with the production and mix down as well as @bissonettematt for his legendary re-recording of the bass.

Neon Summer is the third original release on Shadow Play Records. There’s much more to come throughout 2026, but for now enjoy the new single and have fun this weekend. Happy 4th 🖤❤️‍🔥 taken in Santa Monica Pier by @shadowplay.records

Our favorite 🐈‍⬛ @robotek_reagan delivers an indie dance remix and an ambient rework of @jacksonenglund “Midnight Oil.”

He truly breaks through the threshold with these remixes, creating entirely new dimensions while preserving the core ethos of the original. Don’t sleep on this sonic alchemy, there’s some real wizardry at play here.

Catch him live tonight at @barfrancadtla alongside Jackson Englund and @thefakefuture as we celebrate our latest release on Shadow Play “Neon Summer.” taken in DTLA Arts District by @shadowplay.records
