For Caravaggio’s birthday, Narcissus…the beautiful youth of Greek myth, transfixed by his own reflection until the world beyond it disappears. The way Caravaggio uses light and shadow in the reflection is just extraordinary!! 2 thousand years later, “narcissism” is a word we use almost casually; perhaps the question is not whether we look at ourselves, but how easily we become absorbed in our own image…and whether we can still look beyond it. by @shadowvue_

Following the moon home on Mid-Autumn night. 🌕 Just two lone travellers, making our way through the night. 🖤

Happy Moon Festival. This year’s poetry to the moon - Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Moon.

The moon has a face like the clock in the hall;
She shines on thieves on the garden wall,
On streets and fields and harbour quays,
And birdies asleep in the forks of the trees.

The squalling cat and the squeaking mouse,
The howling dog by the door of the house,
The bat that lies in bed at noon,
All love to be out by the light of the moon.

But all of the things that belong to the day
Cuddle to sleep to be out of her way;
And flowers and children close their eyes
Till up in the morning the sun shall arise. by @shadowvue_

On the eve of the Moon Festival, under the Harvest Moon 🌕 @likemaddladd and @jasper_hoiby took to the stage together for the very first time. Completely improvised and unscripted…spoken word over double bass.

Thank you George Nelson of @mo_notice for putting together such an amazing night. taken in Church Of Sound by @shadowvue_

Remember the golden apple trees;
O, do not pity them, as you watch them drop
one by one,
for they fall exhausted, numb, blind
but in certain ecstasy,
for theirs is the hunger for Paradise.
