When something important needs saving, where do you begin? This conversation explores how to assess risk, prioritize what matters, and respond to threats that endanger an archive, whether it lives in the body, the collection, or the record. Darby Kurtz is Special Collections Curator at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Through oral history, preservation, and curatorial work, she fills the archival void where records fall silent, diversifying the voices in medical history across profession, gender, and race. Drawing on her work in disaster preparedness and IDEA, Darby invites us to consider how we preserve the record in moments of crisis, including the one carried in the body.

Windy and I pulled up on Morgan Falls Overlook Park in Sandy Springs, GA and y’all… this spot is a whole vibe. 😍 That lake view? Stunning. The turf playground? A hit. Swings, an all-inclusive play area, clean bathrooms, a trail to stretch your legs, and a dam that just adds to the scenery. It was popping for a Friday but somehow never felt crowded, everybody was just out there enjoying the sunshine.

📍 200 Morgan Falls Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30350
🚗 About 45 mins from Atlanta, an easy little getaway without leaving the city behind

And since it was Friday… y’all know what that means. 😌🙌 We wrapped it up at Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza because Fridays and pizza just go together.

📍 6405 Blue Stone Rd Ste 240, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

Another one in the books for Rollin wit da Radicals. Me and my girl, exploring the city one adventure at a time. 🚙💨

Still feeling this one.

There’s something powerful about being in a space where people are honest about the weight and responsibility of access—who gets it, who doesn’t, and why.

Thank you to @hollygail05 Smith and @JessicaSalow for sharing so openly, and to the Spelman students Grace Walker and @zenaiyah_art Rubinstein who helped hold this space with so much care. Y’all reminded me that this work is as much about love and accountability as it is about systems.

To everyone who showed up—or wanted to—your presence matters.

We are building something here. And I don’t take that lightly. 🤎 by @shadyradical
