Soft but solid ❤️🫶🏽🤞🏽 by @shaejeanae

This is the kind of energy I thrive in.

I’ve been to Vegas many times, but this time was different.

This video doesn’t do this experience of yoga in the mountains much justice.

Just know if you have the opportunity, do the thing!

Where there was doubt, I sought clarity. Where there was fear, I sought courage. Where there uncertainty, I sought faith. Where there was anger, I sought peace. Where there was loneliness, I sought God❤️

To know my story, is to know little Shaelene is truly shielded by God. I grew up believing and being told I didn’t belong here. Only to grow up teaching myself, I DO. I have to admit, the lessons still feel so fresh. I’ve still spent more years of my life living with the belief that I don’t belong here, versus that I do. But I am forever proud of me, for truly BEATING the odds, for somehow, some way, coming out on the other side of it. Childhood traumas take years to heal from, and I don’t even know what the destination looks like, but what I do know, is I’m on the right path.

Social media only tells parts of the story we want to tell and I’m okay with that. It takes a lot of courage to put it out there into society, but the truth is, someone out there needs to hear it. Someone out there, needs to know they are not alone, someone out there, needs to know that if you trust God, he will never fail you.

Today I’m counting my blessings, today I’m loving on the little me a little more extra. She deserves all the flowers, the hugs, the love, the protection, the security, the safety, the confidence, the trust, she deserves all the good things, and this is my promise to her, I will be the giver of all those things for her, forever.

Thank you God for never giving up on me , and thank you little me, for never giving up on yourself ❤️ #healing #ugc #fyp #explore by @shaejeanae

And just like that, my baby is 5. Making this video made me look back at all my videos and God is seriously so good to us. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but one things for certain, TK is so loved and I have no doubt in my mind that he knows that. We have done so much together in his five years of life and I am so blessed that despite how hard things got, we have always found a way. From road trips, to catching flights, to picnics and walks in the park, I’m so grateful for the life we have together.

To my son, you are so loved, you are so beautiful, and you are forever protected. I pray for many more blessed, amazing and healthy years with you. I am so proud of you and one things for certain, mama always got you, even though I have to admit he’s official in his “I want to be with my dad, I want to do this like my dad era” the last five years have by far been, the best of mine ❤️

10/10 recommend finding friends that want to experience new things!
I had been wanting to do this for so long, so I threw it in the chat and we made it happen. Seriously, such a great time.

There is honestly so much to do in ATL. And we are definitely making it happen when we finally get some time to ourselves.

Balance for us is 🔑. Raising boys is not for the weak, so we’re definitely catching our breaks when we can!

Stay tuned, because we’re on the go 🔥🫶🏽

August was good to us. Took a month off from traveling, and really locked in on my fitness goals, got outside, and grew more with TK. From horse back riding, getting dressed up for what feels like something I haven’t done in forever, our first home project together and TK’s second season of football. We’re ready for all the fall and holiday festivities in the upcoming months. Stay tuned for our travels coming up 🫶🏽❤️ by @shaejeanae

I did what they told me, but that’s more to do with how I am, and what I wanted for myself. This post isn’t intended to tell you to go against what society says, at least that’s my perspective, because I’ve done it all.

The point is this: if these are your goals, if these things bring you joy, peace, and purpose, then do it. You’ll know because you’ll do it even when no one’s looking, you’ll do it tired, you’ll do even when no one is clapping for you. That’s when you know you’re doing it for You.

If your life looks different, then do the different.

I realize NOW, more than ever.

I am in control of my happiness.

I am in control of my peace.

I am in control.

And when you feel in control of your life, your actions, and your outcomes, that’s when you truly start living.

Remember that parenting and peace look different for everyone, so do what you think is best for you and yours.

My family didn’t agree with much of my parenting in TK’s younger years. I was strict on his bed time, his routine and day to day things.

My explanation that I didn’t owe anyone was this: I am a single (coparent). I made decisions that I knew would benefit me and TK. Strict sleep schedules meant we both were well rested. A cranky child, leads to a cranky mom, and everyone knows that’s no good recipe. I learned very quickly that lack of sleep, will quite literally kill you, that’s when PPD hit me hardest. I was and still am, the one keep a roof above both our heads, because that’s my job. Which meant, I went to work even when I was tired, exhausted, and again still do.

Yall for the most part on social media, see all the good moments most families post, including my own.

And the truth is, TK and I are truly blessed, but the secret to success has been this.

I did what I truly believed was best for me and mine, even when others didn’t agree. Even when others judged, because at the end of the day, if someone isn’t in your household, or helping you raise your child, then why should their opinion matter.

TK and I have these special moments because at the end of the day, he’s my priority, he’s my best friend and when he’s home with me, it truly is my safe Haven ❤️
