I have earned a Bachelors in Exercise Science!! These past 3.5 years have been both the best and the hardest years of my life. I feel so incredibly blessed to be finishing this chapter of my life, knowing I stayed firm in my faith throughout all of the tribulations life threw at me. I am so grateful to my lovely fiancé Levi, my family, my church, and my friends for encouraging me through these past few years. I had to choose each day to stay true to my goal, and I was able to complete my bachelors, not just for myself, but for my grandpa Jerry, my grandma Elaine, my sister Kendall, and my Oma, Nancy, and Opa, Roger, whom all I have lossed in these past few years. by @shaelyn_dougan

Last Tuesday I lost my best friend. I remember as a child crying at the thought of losing my grandma, and now it’s real for me. I still can’t quite wrap my mind around how I am supposed to go on and be okay without her. I have never felt so lonely. I have never, and will never, know a more valuable relationship than my grandma and mine. I had the privilege of caring for her the last couple summers and I will never regret that time or the sacrifices I made to be able to do that. I’m so glad to say she knew how special she was to me, but I don’t think anyone will ever understand the depth of our love for each other. Truly, without my grandma I feel so alone and so confused and lost. I feel like I’m navigating everything alone and like no one cares or understands this pain. I just pray that time and Jesus will heal these wounds. Please keep my family in your prayers. This has been such an incredibly difficult time in our lives full of so much loss. by @shaelyn_dougan
