it feels so very right to share my #poem “sublingual” today on juneteenth - a piece i wrote imagining what i might hear if the ocean could speak and how i might respond, or pause to reflect on the depth of history shared. i ask that you receive this with love & care; my words are reckonings 🙇🏾‍♀️⭐️🌊

to my multi beverage queen, flipflop lover, resident orca expert and flora & fauna enthusiast. the best person to ever do a moon ritual with, to go on long drives with, to explore with, to stretch with, and so much more. you are many things, but most importantly you are you! and that’s my favorite thing about you 💘

madison, for you i’ll always be cheering the loudest! hugging you the tightest! laughing the absolute hardest! walking miles and miles through rocks and mountains and crunchy leaves! i’ll spin around a million times while we dance! & i’ll always love you the biggest!! you’re a wonder of a person and a gem of a best friend🫂💍♏️

few words can express what it feels like to have had a hand in an exhibition like @fordjourstudio ‘s Nightsong.

it’s the kind of show i thought only existed in dreams—a seamless merging of music, storytelling, and art that transforms a typically white walled space into expansive and entrancing darkness. the world that was created, with the love and labor of so many incredibly kind-hearted creative people was so layered and so abundant and so opaque that i think it requires as many visits as time can warrant.

there’s no one experience of this show, no one way to be moved by it, but i have to say getting to be so intimately intertwined with the inner workings that culminated in Nightsong is a unforgettable one.

thank you to the amazing studio team for letting me into this space of magic and vivid wonder. & to everyone who worked on this project, for letting me be authentically myself in a space that doesn’t always allow that. so many laughs and hugs and reflections were shared and to think it all resulted in harmony!
