Hey all! There’s been a lot of change around here + some new followers so I thought what better time for a Friday reintroduction!

Shannon here!🤍—your fellow designer + wedding calligrapher, and loyal patron of coffee shops near and far.

Here are a few fun facts about me:

1. I started my business on a whim in 2012, when health issues seemed to create a pause, God had other plans I couldn’t yet see. My freelance career started in mixed media watercolor art, social media graphics, and stationary design—which eventually caught momentum bringing me unexpectedly into calligraphy with a few wedding planners taking me under their wing—so grateful!

2. On a busy week you can find me working on client graphics at a local coffee shop enjoying a dirty chai or matcha——or at home creating custom calligraphy for clients + brides across all kinds of events.

3. I also love being creative in my free time whether it’s making handmade jewelry for my shop (I cannot wait to relaunch this!), or making a special recipe to host a gathering—I have a hard time showing up anywhere empty handed😅.

4. I would deem myself an ambivert (apparently there are new names for this now lol), but I love meeting all sorts of people + learning their stories!

5. I lived most of my life in northern Illinois, but now reside in one of the places I’ve always dreamed of moving—Nashville☀. And while it’s been a bittersweet transition, I can’t wait to see what all God will do with it!

6. My favorite part about design + calligraphy for weddings + events is being able to bring together the couples vision for the day with such special pieces, big or small!—and the greatest part? The day of set-up reveal when my couples get to see the pieces come to life for the first time🤍

7. I recently checked off a bucket list item in my calligraphy career—it’s a great pleasure to be able to share with you my “A Beginner’s Guide to Modern Calligraphy”! NOW Available in my Etsy shop

Well, the wait is over and it’s finally here!
A labor of love these last few years that I’ve returned to over and over to add just the right touch🤍.

It’s been such a pleasure to be able to teach a few calligraphy classes in my time and be able to share from my experience to pass along!—-From my years in the wedding industry and other mixed media projects involving calligraphy that got me my start in it all, it’s now such an exciting moment to be able to share this Calligraphy Guide with you all!

Hand-lettered calligraphy signage is a great way to make a statement on your wedding day!—-for your guests and most importantly it creates a beautiful touch that is uniquely YOU!

I’ve had the privilege of providing calligraphy services to many brides and couples over the last 10+ years and I wouldn’t change a thing. Each couple has their own style and flare, and that is exactly what I intend to capture💛.

With Shaesu Handmade jewelry every bead and detail is thoughtfully selected, then pieced together by hand.

I’ve loved working with tactile art for as long as I can remember!—-and have also been enamored with product design and packaging.

There’s something about seeing an entire design come together——every accent bead, color combination, and how the materials feel in my hands, down to the way it’s styled with the backing card.

When I’m sourcing my materials, I’m inspired by + looking for pieces that feel timeless for everyday wear and generally have a coastal or ethereal look—-with accents that feel lux or one of a kind, paired with high quality findings, stone beading or chains.

—-Not to mention the wildflowers nearby definitely get my attention for using florals in my pieces in different ways these days🌸….(I can’t wait to share more on this!)

Across the collection there is quite the variety of materials!—-you’ll find pieces that are made with marbled polymer clay to create a light weight faux stone look, polymer clay paired with hand dried and pressed real florals sealed in resin, and pieces with purely semi precious stones and fresh water pearl accents.

And y’all—-fall is coming and I have some leather waiting to be used that I’m already dreaming about!🍁
