Lubna & Safwan 💚

This piece is inspired by the iconic prayer rugs and architecture of Masjid Al Nabawi, evoking an image of the gardens of heaven. The bride wanted to commemorate this sacred place, where our hearts are most at peace, on her special day, and showcase the duas the couple made to find each other, (which are incorporated into the design, see slides 5 & 6).

Anna & Zuhaib 💞

Got to do my best friend and former roommate’s nikkahnama, this one feels so special!!
I wanted this piece to *feel* like Anna and Zuhaib’s heritage, which meant a cozy and inviting wooden frame (with the iconic chinar leaf pattern “carved” in), and a scene of an Apple orchard to emulate some of the natural beauty of Kashmir.
Details from the border were also extra special, as the bride requested a nod to her nikkah dupatta—the same dupatta her own mother wore in her wedding—down to the silver kiran. Embroidery from her traditional pashmina ghoonghat (veil) is also worked in to the inner border.

Fully custom, embroidered and gold-leafed nikkahnama 💕

Alhamdulillah one of the most special pieces I’ve ever done. I’ve had the idea of embroidering nikkahnamas for some time now, and I knew Sundus—also a lover of Desi textiles—was the perfect bride for this! The kiran lace border and zardozi appliqués were sewn onto the piece by hand.

As for the design itself, the bride and groom wanted a dreamy midnight garden scene to reflect their outdoor, nighttime Nikkah, complete with Mughal motifs, Punjabi oranges, and KPK gorgoray as an homage to their ancestry. by @shahrco

Samiya & Yousuf 🦚🌺💙✨

Inspired by ornate Persian rugs, elegant peacocks, and lush florals, this nikkah nama was an incredibly exciting creative challenge. We were able to use a bold color palette, a new height of detail (the bride’s key words were “full glam”), and a unique layout! Completed with kiran lace and rhinestone and zardozi flowers sewn on by hand, and gold finishing done by hand 💗 by @shahrco

Had the pleasure of making this piece for my cousin and beautiful new Bhabhi!! They requested an arch style with clean, classic ornamentation in a purple, pink, and cream color scheme with gold accents. I wanted this piece to feel grounded, but heavy on the finer details that stand out with closer looks. I’m so happy with how this one turned out and how beautiful it went with their nikkah decor! 💓

One of my favorites from 2025, this piece is inspired by Mughal gardens in the spring, with multiple layers of florals and embellishments, and with personal touches like the bride & groom’s names in Urdu hidden among the foliage. Was perfect for an outdoor, spring-time Nikkah 💓 by @shahrco

Amber & Islam 🌹

A classic red, cream, and gold nikkah nama that pulls traditional Desi florals and clean Egyptian patterns; to celebrate the mixing of the 2 cultures, we opted to use this beautiful verse from Surah Hujurat. The bride also wanted heavy gold foiling and crystal flower embroidery, which I think really took this piece to a new level! 💛

I had such a lovely time doing this nikkah nama for @freespiritrida 💓 Inspired by traditional Mughal architecture and its iconic floral frescoes, I wanted to make this nikkah nama depict a scene straight from a Mughal palace, complete with lush bouquets and grand vases. A closer look will reveal two birds in flight, representing the newlyweds! Finished with gold, painted by hand. 💛

Amina & Koby 🇵🇰💛🇵🇭

This piece is a blend of the two beautiful cultures of Pakistan and the Philippines. The national flower of both countries is jasmine, and the couple wanted to incorporate the moon from the Pakistani flag and the sun of the Filipino flag.

So, this piece tells the story of a garden—overflowing with jasmine—through the daily journey of the sun & moon. The main border shows the flowers in the bright early morning and midnight, and in the center of the piece is a lush garden reflecting the colors of dawn and dusk, when the sun and moon meet. Closer inspection will also reveal small suns and crescent moons (hand-painted in silver and gold) embedded into the floral patterns, and traditional pabalat paper motifs from Bulacan are featured in the inner border. The piece was also finished with crystal and zardozi flowers, sewn onto the piece by hand, and framed by the bride & groom’s names in Urdu, as well as the Tagalog phrase “Mabuhay ang bagong kasal,” meaning “long live the newlyweds.” 💛

Rich in tradition and regal elegance, for this piece we did a green and maroon base with patterns pulled from the bride’s khada dupatta, traditional Sindhi ajrak, and motifs from Hyderabadi palaces. Finished in gold 💛
