There are no words to describe the experience I’ve had with these incredible women. We danced, we shared stories , we cried, we laughed, we prayed. We come from different nations across turtle island, and share so many similarities. We had an a cultural exchange that I will be forever grateful for. Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monestary and Museum .
Dashu District, Kaohsiung Southern Taiwan ,it is the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan.

We spent 5 days there taking part in ceremonies and festivities for the 60th Anniversary of Fo Guang Shan and to celebrate Atwai Master Hsin Yun’s 100th birthday .
We attended an evening Chanting Service at the Main Shrine one evening , Practiced seva (service) serving breakfast for the 1000 Venerable Monks and their families , and opened several events and ceremonies with the Medicine of the Jingle Dance .
Thank you Venerable Yung Ling for inviting us to take part and be in kinship . We are honored and humbled 🙏🏾

6 Jingle Dancers from Turtle Island traveled to Taiwan to share the Medicine of the Jingle Dress at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monestary to celebrate the 60 year Anniversary of Fo Guang Shan as well as Master Hsin Yun’s 100th birthday .
A gathering of 1000 Venerable Monks in attendance with their families present . It was soo amazing to be invited to open for them with the Jingle Dance . A relationship has been building between our people and the Monks over the past few years and the ties are growing stronger .
4 years ago on my very first trip here I kept envisioning many Jingle Dancers in line - dancing - and spreading the Sound across the land. This year that vision manifested with 6 of us following the path to making it reality with the invitation from Venerable Yung Ling and our travel guide Tina 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾
This trip was really special because we were joined by Ryanne White an Anishnaabe/Lakota Woman who was chosen as a child to carry the medicine dress in honor of Maggie White (the origin of the Jingle dress).
Ryanne carries Maggie’s Dance Staff , a high honor and great responsibility as a medicine dancer .
We are honored and humbled to dance along side Ryanne and Maggie’s Staff in such a prayerful place as the Dress continues to spread healing and sound health around the world 🌎

💙 Ryanne White represents the Lakota and Anishinaabe tribes, she is Lynx Clan from Whitefish Bay, Ontario.

🩵 Aerius Benton-Banai, Bullhead Fish Clan of the Ojibwe Anishinaabe Tribe from Wisconsin.

♥️ Tiana Spotted Thunder comes from the Oglala Lakota people of Pine Ridge, South Dakota, with lineage to the Oglala, Mnikonjou, and Hunkpapa bands of Lakota, as well as the Cheyenne people.

❤️ Acosia Red Elk represents the Umatilla, Cayuse, Nez Perce tribes, from Pendleton Oregon in the Pacific Northwest Plateau Region.

💎✨ SNL Jr. Women’s Contemporary Jingle at Muckleshoot Veterans POWWOW 🩷🧡💛💚

Dancing this weekend brought me into another dimension.. I was in a flow state, peaceful, lighthearted & confident in the beauty around me. I am full of gratitude — to be able to live and lead in this way, to share my good medicine. ➕➕➕➕

The energy of this powwow always lifts me up.. the committee, head staff, veterans, singers, dancers, families & community — we came together in such a powerful & positive way. I was honored to stand and dance with my sister, Dr. Shelby Snyder while she served as the head woman dancer.
