This is my Great Great Grandfather Hāmiora Mangakahia’s Tokotoko (Carved walking stick) from the late 1800’s! What an honor it was to hold it and feel its MANA!

Now you know where Hāmiora Art comes from

This experience inspired me to create this design titled “LEGACY”

“Courage and Heart” @therock

Full circle from carving Maui to Maui finally holding the 🪝

I’m still smiling from the meaningful time Chalei and I had with the Johnson Aiga.

We shared our values, listened to each other and we carved those values into wood.

The value “courage” is a word that Dj and I resonated with. To set your mind to something and despite the challenges, go out and do it.

There were many precious moments that we are grateful for and more than anything being inspired by one another to become 1% better each day and help those around us.

Tell Your Story! by @shaka_tribe

Our Strength wallet carries the Mangopare pattern, inspired by the hammerhead shark, a symbol of strength and endurance. Paired with our Ocean Guardian stingray keychain, which honors Whaitere’s story: a reminder to look after the ocean, so it looks after us. Every design carries a story. 🦈🌊 by @shaka_tribe

During the month of October, I am challenging myself to take, edit, and post product photos from a different company each day. The catch is it has to be a product I actually use daily (or at least weekly). The goal is to both grow me as a photographer, as well as get my work in-front of companies I actually believe in.

Today’s product is a magsafe wallet from Shaka Tribe. I lost my wallet a few ago after it fell out of my pocket on the bus, so I invested in something that snaps onto the back of my phone so that it wonʻt slide out of my pocket. This lether wallet from Shaka Tribe is awesome!! Not only is it practical, but Sam, the artist behind shaka tribe, also does an incredible job incorporating Pasifika designs into his work.

Courage doesn’t always look fearless. Sometimes it’s choosing to move forward even when you’re unsure of what comes next.

Our Mountain Journal was designed as a reminder that the climb is part of the story. A place to write down the lessons, ideas, plans, and moments you don’t want to forget.

Made with full-grain leather and designed to travel with you wherever life takes you.
