Grief can show up in so many ways. In the memories we hold, the empty spaces we feel, the moments that catch us off guard, and the love that remains. 🤍

I almost didn't share this.

I'm not someone who normally shares moments like this. When I'm hurting, when I'm overwhelmed, when the tears come, those moments are usually mine.

But I decided to share this one because this is grief, too.

Social media often shows us the smiles, the accomplishments, the good days, and the moments when someone appears to be doing okay. What you don't always see are the moments in between. The tears. The heaviness. The days when life becomes overwhelming and all you want is the person you would normally turn to.

For me, that person is my mom.

So today, I went to her.

Grief is not linear. You can laugh, smile, work, build, accomplish things, and genuinely experience joy while still having moments when the weight of missing someone brings you to tears.

Strength doesn't mean you don't cry. Healing doesn't mean you stop grieving. And having a hard moment doesn't erase how far you've come.

I wanted to give you a glimpse behind the scenes because this side of grief deserves to be seen, too.

If you're having one of these days, I hope this reminds you that grief can hold both the love and the ache. Some days we carry it beautifully. Other days, we simply need somewhere to place our tears.

Through it all, God remains my strength. I am His child, and I trust that He will continue to protect me, guide me, and strengthen me through every season. He is close to the brokenhearted, meeting me right where I am, in my grief, in my tears, in my questions, and even in the moments when I don't have the words to pray. ❤️🙏

Happy Angelversary Mom!!! I can’t believe it’s already been two years. It feels like just yesterday. I love you and miss you more than words could ever express. You are deeply missed by everyone who loves you.

I know you’re still here with us, watching over us and protecting us. Thank you for being such an amazing mom and for everything you’ve done for me. I know you’re at peace and resting with the Lord and knowing that brings me some type of peace 🤍.

I love you forever, Mom. Until we meet again. 🕊️

Happy Mother’s Day Mom,

This is the second Mother’s Day without you😢... I hate that this is my new reality.

There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you💔. I thank God every day for the strength He has given me to get through this nightmare.

Thank you for always being there for me and Messiah. I love you forever and ever... until we meet again...

Love Always,

Happy 13th Birthday Messiah!!!🎉🥳🎁🎂🎈...I can't believe you are officially a teenager(wahhh 😂). It's crazy how fast time has gone by😢. You are a lil man now with a little mustache and almost as tall as me(which isn't hard to be🤣).

I just want to thank you for always being there for me when I need comfort and hugs. You seen the best and worst of me and you still say I'm the best mom🥰❤️. Thank you for that, because at times I feel like I fall short.

Always remember, God first. He will never forsake you nor disappoint you. He knows what's best.

I love you so much and I will always cherish the bond we share. I love you infinite x infinite x infinite x infinite 😂.

Enjoy your special day!!! Xoxo

Love Always,
Mommy❤️

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mom (My Queen👸)

Today marks the second birthday I’ve had to spend without you here, and it still feels like a nightmare. How I wish you were by my side so I could celebrate you the way you deserve. I already know we will be in Atlantic City, your favorite place☺️, full of memories and laughter. I would give anything to have one more moment with you.

This pain is like no other, and the void you left is impossible to explain😢💔. My tears feel endless, like waves🌊that rise and fall but never fully rest. Every day I long for you; your voice, your presence, your warmth. I miss the version of myself that existed when you were here, because life has never felt the same since your transition. A part of me left with you, and I’m still learning how to live with that empty space.

This grief is heavy, but I stand on God’s promises. I know you are in His presence; whole, at peace, and wrapped in eternal love. That truth is what keeps me going.

I love you so deeply, Mom, more than words could ever hold. I carry you with me in everything I do, and I cling to the hope that in God’s perfect timing, I will see you again. Until that beautiful day, I will always honor you, celebrate you, and keep your love alive in my heart. I love you Mom xoxo. ❤️❤️❤️

Love Always,
Your Princess Melissa (Shalom)
