It’s official, numbers are in, Alhamdulillah our little team @irwalesandwest & the people of Bristol & South Wales have raised: £86,679.30! 💙

That number is absolutely crazy. Your donations will go towards: maternity care, food, water, education, shelter, medication, hygiene packs, clothing, vouchers and so much more!

This Insha’Allah will act as a wave of mercy that will reach families in Palestine, Syria, and Sudan through @islamicreliefuk & @thecakecampaign’s emergency and medical programmes.🇵🇸🇸🇾🇸🇩

Today marks 4 years since my father's passing, may God be pleased with him, ameen. 🌹

I hope you don't mind me sharing some life lessons.

For those who still have their parents/guardians:

1. There is never enough photos, videos or time: Capture & soak in all your moments with them, hear all their stories, even if it's in the form of a lecture.

2. Answer the phone calls: I know the phone calls or requests for help for seemingly easy things can be very patience testing. But trust me, those calls & chances to help with easy things will be all you ever crave for.

3. Have mercy on them for they looked after you when you were small: Every moment you see them, embrace them with a hug & a kiss. Every random shopping trip they wanna' go on, take them. Make time for them. On every bid for connection, take it without hesitation.

For those who are seperated:

1. Grief is a heck of thing. It hits you in waves, big & small. But please don't think of it as a burden. I think it's beautiful reminder of the love you have for that person. Express it how you need to in a healthy way.

2. You are a living, breathing piece of them. Take honour in that, keep in touch with their friends & family members, they miss them too you know? I'm sure they'll see little bits of your loved one reflected in you.

3. Be patient with yourself. Losing someone sucks, and you don't have to feel any other way about it.

We got this.

I can't ever put into words how I feel when Ramadan leaves me.

The month embraces me like a long lost friend, and with it, I create memories, I strive to become my best self and feel sukoon [tranquility] deeply.

And when it leaves us, it's as if it comforts us with the thought that we'll see eachother again, and asks to try our best, and gives us those reminders only a good friend would give.

Surah Ad-Duha (my wife's fave surah) has definitely been the theme for this year. It's come to us whenever we needed the reminder the most.

And what a grounding reminder it brings: He has not abandoned us.

Alhamdulillah. 🫶🏼

@irwalesandwest with the community of Bristol produced an amazing result! 🇵🇸

£55,351 raised for those in need in Gaza, this in turn = 27,675 hot meals.

I could not be more proud! Alhamdulillah this is a staple event in Bristol that's been going on for years, I pray that Allah accepts it from us all and that it's something that keeps going for years to come.

Bristol, you give me so many reasons to love you. 💙

The happiest of happy anniversaries to my darling wife.

It literally only feels like we got married yesterday, alhamdulillah.

In one year we were able to do so much, so I'm even more excited to discover what happens in our second year.

JEREMY WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE SIDE?' 😂

I only got to shoot with @jeremycorbyn yesterday at the @bristol_beacon. He was reading poems from a book he produced with Len McCluskey called: 'Poetry For the Many' for @rtbspokenword ✨

Jezza is way more charismatic & filled to the brim with knowledge in person, sharing his experiences at the recent ICJ case for Palestine & even sharing facts about Bristol that most Bristolians aren't even familiar with.

He shared the stage with our boy Danny from Raise the Bar, and of course our: City Poet, @katlyonsartist.

Full house. Beautiful night. Beautiful crowd.

Ps. Also great to see so many Bristol events having live BSL translaters! Love to see it! 🎉

Today marks 3 years since dad left this life. It doesn't get easier, and of course we miss him more and more everyday.

But I do have some amazing news to FINALLY share with everyone. Shortly after his passing, by Allah, through the help of our beloved family & friends, 615+ people put their hands together all across the world to fundraise for a Masjid to be built as a sadaqah jariyah project.

Not only has this Masjid been built in a remote village in Tanzania, but a motorised water filtration system too! It is and Insha'Allah will continue to be a centre for the community. Water will be used for wudu facilities, drinking, cooking and even farming.

You did a really good thing. May it be accepted from you and my father. May it benefit, empower and strengthen the community it has reached.

A big thank you from my family to yours. May this be among the many reasons that take us to jannah, Insha'Allah.

I had a very sad realisation the other day:

I first got into listening to @lowkeyonline in my college days, I listened to 'Long Live Palestine' over and over again, learning about what terrible things was happening to our people.

I'm an old man now, college days was around 10-12 years ago for me, and the very same songs are still so relevant. The same oppressive acts are still happening. Sadly it goes back way before me, and most likely you too.

16,000+ dead in Gaza, 7000 of them being children.

If you haven't read up on whats happening, now is the time.

In some way or another we are all in a position of power, now is the time to speak.
