POSTS STORIES REELS

My dad, Michael DeLurio, passed surrounded by love, comfort, and care on 10/6/2026.

There are no words, songs, or statements to begin to adequately express the feelings present here. There is a deeper sadness than I have ever known. My dad was goofy, sweet, specific, giving, extremely intelligent, handy, and forever thrifty. He had a soft kindness to him. Often found in the background of social gatherings, he could offer a lovely refuge of interesting conversation to anyone. He was an accomplished hardware engineer. He was a quirky guy. With a quiet confidence, he was always fiercely himself. He explored the word with constant curiosity. My dad loved to hike and made connections with others surrounding his love for the natural world. He was devoutly catholic and loved in all of his religious communities. He was a lover of music. I have vivid memories of him driving us around drumming to the beat of every classic rock song on our family van steering wheel. In my adulthood I found that I remember every word to these songs. I remember a lot of things, but I wished I remembered more. I wish I had every good memory in a little bottle that I could open up to relive whenever I needed it. I wish a lot of things. I wish we could have laughed together more. I wish it didn’t have to end like it did. I wish I could have held your hand one more time. I wish no one else had to go through this pain. I wish you were still here. I love you, I miss you, and I hope you’re resting so easy right now. by @shan_tattoos

Update in my life: I will be out of office until at least 11/3, and potentially longer after that. My father was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and is now sadly, in hospice care. This has been an incredibly difficult and overwhelming time for my family and I. Right now, I am needed down in California to support my loved ones.

I reached out to everyone scheduled in October this morning. Books will not open on 10/4. I will reach out to November clients later in October if it will be necessary to reschedule. I will be back and tattooing again in the near future. For now, I really appreciate your respect, patience, and understanding of my time and space right now. I will be slow to respond to any messages.

I love you all. Squeeze your loved ones real tight. For all those who have wandered through the endless halls of grief, I see you and I’m sending you all my love. by @shan_tattoos

I’ve been tattooing for 3 years! This post is a little late, but I’m feelin’ in a sappy mood.

After feeling burnt out as a painter/illustrator, in January of 2022 I decided to shift my artistic pursuits toward tattooing. That year, I bought a machine, drew a ton, sought out advice from other tattoo artists, got licensed, practiced on many willing friends, and learned a ton! Almost exactly a year later @linesbylau and I connected and our private studio was born! Shout out to Lau, literally the best studio mate and friend I could ask for 🫶

These last two years in our space have been an incredible time of growth. Learning how to run a business has been a majorly humbling and rewarding experience in so many ways. But damn, I am doing it and proud of myself! This career is certainly not for the faint of heart and honestly, some days do feel really hard. Running your own business requires constant work and energy. When I started this I had no idea I would be a social media manager, bookkeeper, photographer, designer, copywriter, scheduler, and tattoo artist all in one🙃. Through it all, continuing to grow as an artist technically, stylistically, and interpersonally has brought me endless joy. The best part of it is all of you cuties! My amazing clients. I would not be here without all of you and I feel so much gratitude for each person who has stepped into the studio. Being able to collaborate with folks artistically, host people in a safe space, and share in the stoke of tattooing has been indescribable. Tattooing is such a beautiful exchange of art, communication, time, and space. I love what I do and want to thank each and every one of you for being here! Whether you’re a client, or just an admirer, thanks for taking the time to be apart of this journey. I look forward to pursuing more goals this year and all the tattoos to come❤️❤️
