Hey, I’m Shanae!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!!

From Washington to Arizona, we moved our family chasing a better life… and sunshine ☀️

I’m a mom of four (with twins in the mix), and honestly, motherhood is my greatest joy. I’ve been with my husband for 24 years - met him at 17 at a party I probably shouldn’t have been at… and I’ve been hooked ever since. Still get butterflies.

I was raised around hard work - construction sites, deadlines, blue-collar roots. My husband and I even ran our own commercial sheet metal business together, which was one of the best seasons of our life. I also spent 13 years as a hairdresser, raising babies while working from home.

Life shifted, bodies change, seasons evolve… and real estate just made sense. I love people, homes, design, and building something meaningful.

Outside of work, I’m a homebody at heart - give me a good glass of wine, our dogs, chickens, a little garden, and I’m happy.

Around here, you’ll get real life, real estate, Arizona living, and a little chaos in between. Stick around 🤍 by @shanaejohnsonaz

Something is cooking in Mesa and I got invited behind the scenes to see it first. Bobby Q is putting in something new and I get a first look before anyone else. I cannot share what it is yet, so drop your guesses in the comments.

What do you think is coming? by @shanaejohnsonaz

One of my fav things about AZ is that we can all personalize our plates, not just what we say on them. And that plain plate is a missed opportunity. Arizona specialty plates are $25 a year and $17 goes to the organization behind the design. There are over 100 to choose from: veterans, first responders, wildlife, universities, you name it. Mine supports first responders. In fiscal year 2025 these plates raised more than $14.5 million for Arizona causes. 😳 How amazing is that?! And people get SUPER creative and funny with theirs. You can order yours at azmvdnow.gov/plates. Personalized adds $25 a year if you want your own wording.

Which design would you pick? I’ll drop mine in the comments. by @shanaejohnsonaz

Fellow Washingtonians, imagine flying 300 days a year. Stacey Rd in Pegasus Airpark, Queen Creek AZ. A gated aviation community where you taxi your plane from your backyard hangar to a 5,000 foot lighted runway. 4 bed, 3.5 bath, 3,611 square foot home built in 2023, plus an 1,800 square foot apartment in the hangar. Trade the gray for desert sunsets and a pool you can actually use. $4,850,000.

Washington friends, could you do it? Tell me below. by @shanaejohnsonaz

Sometimes I wanna just go back to the 90’s. Life was simpler, slower, less - but somehow more.

Anyone else slip back to some old dinners you grew up on for comfort or nostalgia? by @shanaejohnsonaz

Okay friends, The lessons have started, and we’re getting ready to really hit the dance floor! 💃🕺

I have walked a lot of beautiful homes in the East Valley. This one slowed me down. Vast, but feels like home.

20406 E Sunset Ct sits on a double lot, 1.38 acres, at the end of a private cul-de-sac in The Pecans, where the streets are lined with mature pecan trees and it does not feel like the desert at all. More than 12,000 square feet. Nine bedrooms, every one of them with its own bath and walk-in closet, plus a detached guest house and an attached casita, each with its own kitchen.

The details are the kind you cannot fake. A wall of glass that folds away to the patio. A chef’s kitchen with Thermador appliances and a butler’s pantry behind it. A primary suite with a brick ceiling and a bath that feels like a small spa. A theater, a gym, a sport court, and a heated diving pool out back, all of it private.

Homes like this are not really about square footage. They are about how your family gets to live. Room for everyone, and room to be alone, on land that feels like this.

$5,990,000. Comment LUXE and I will send you the full details, or reach out and I will arrange a private tour.

East Valley steakhouse roundup, because some of you asked and some of you already know. The longtime favorites are still here: Texas Roadhouse on Power, The Keg, Firebirds and Outback. And not to forget: Bourbon & Bones and Origen. Just opened: Perry’s (June) and Fogo de Chao (August), and yes, a Brazilian churrascaria absolutely counts as a steakhouse. Coming next: J. Alexander’s in November, The William at Power and the 202, and LongHorn at Queen Creek Marketplace this spring. This is what growth looks like when the rooftops show up first.

Who did I miss?? 🥩

We’ve all heard the term snowbird. Well, most of us have. Some people haven’t, so for those people, this is what it means. And for the rest of you, you already know exactly what’s about to happen here.

A snowbird is someone who lives somewhere cold most of the year and comes to Arizona for the winter. Every fall they come in and basically take over. Traffic picks up, restaurant waits get longer, everything gets busier, and the whole Valley feels different until spring.

And honestly, I completely get it, but also can’t wait to be a Snowbird living bird one day.

That’s exactly how we ended up here. We came to visit a friend in November and we were swimming and it was 70° out and we realized we were doing life wrong.

Nobody told me before we moved here how much snowbird season actually affects daily life, and real estate too. Rentals fill up, buyers show up, and the good homes do not sit around waiting.

If you’re a snowbird, thinking about becoming one, or just a local watching them roll back in, follow along. I share what it’s really like living here in Queen Creek and the East Valley, not just the pretty parts.

Tell me in the comments, are you full time here, a snowbird, or still somewhere cold dreaming about swimming in November?
