September is National Suicide Awareness Month. As someone who’s struggled I wanted to take this opportunity to speak out and hopefully motivate others to speak up about their feelings. Everyone is fighting their own quiet battles in their own ways whether it’s depression, anger, or anxiety. You should never feel afraid or ashamed to speak about your mental health, holding it and hiding it away does nothing but prolonging the inevitable burnout. It’s okay to struggle, it’s apart of each and everyone’s life. Never feel like you have to do everything alone, initially i thought I could battle all my problems on my own and looking back I can see that was what made things much harder for me. I began to speak out to friends, family, and those who I trust and that is what truly helped me get so much better. I wanted to give a special thanks to everyone who helped me in the past year or so, I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you guys and I would still be stuck in such a dark place. If you feel as if you don’t have anyone to go, reach out to me and I can try my best to help you out! Always remember to check up on the ones you love. Your feelings matter, your voice matters, asking for help is a strength not a weakness, and most importantly YOU MATTER. Thank you all 💙💙 #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #SelfCare #YouAreNotAlone by @shane__mcfadden
