First time back in the Big Horn Crags in a decade for a 10 day backpack trip. A place I visited when I was close to five and came back to about every summer. Life and my thoughts through this summer:

The journey that brings you to the present I have found interesting and profound. In the grand scheme of things we are all just a tiny speck that has little to do with the ever expanding universe. We really have no impact when it comes to the history books yet the human mind finds conflict regardless. With ourselves and others. However, it is all so beautiful. Simply living and finding joy as an individual is the best thing you can do for yourself. Willing to be open minded, taking in every experience, to let it mold you into something better yet still staying true to your nature. Learn from those before you because they’ve gone through a thing or two which will save you grief down the road. Let yourself be humbled when you are wrong. No human is perfect so don’t get caught up trying to be perfect. The only barrier in your way is the mind. Through practice and patience you can control what bothers you to become irrational. Let the past be the past; let the future bring excitement to your life. The never ending grind doesn’t have to be a grind. Simply pause and reflect rather than going on as a beast who flees at the sight of fear. People will continue being people. Feel for them but don’t let that stop you from being you. Meet people half way but don’t let logic be thrown out the window. At the end of the day, love those who love you deeply, this is a gift that many take for granted. by @shane_gard
