Had the pleasure to dine at @heritage_east and let me tell you……this is southern food done RIGHT!!

You may recognize @chef_lance_mcwhorter from tv, but he is so much more! A chef who opened from the ground up. A chef who has fought not only for his space in hospitality, but a veteran who has served our country and continues everyday.

What’s even more special? His passion to not only cook good food, but share history of the many dishes we enjoy each day. East Texas has a history that may not be pretty, but each day we grow, learn, and change to make it a day we all feel loved!!

The space is intimate. The vibes are warm! Oh… and do you love a speakeasy?? Ask if you can enter the world @theplaidrabbitetx for a great cocktail and even more vibes!

I didn’t start with a trainer… I started with a decision. 🤍

Before the support, before the structure, before anybody was checking on me…

I went to the gym by myself for 30 days. 💪🏽

No hype. No accountability. Just me showing up.

Because I’ve started before… and stopped before.

And this time, I needed to prove to myself that I was serious. 🎯

Then I got a trainer—and one thing she told me changed everything:

“You won’t be my client forever.”

That stuck with me.

This journey was never about depending on someone else…
it was about becoming someone who could stand on her own. 👏🏽

And somewhere along the way, I found community. 🤝🏽
Tried different things. Found what worked for me.

Because discipline got me started…

but finding my fit made me stay. ✨

This is Part 1 of my series:

Y’all, our hearts (and bellies!) are still full from last night at @radiciwoodfiredgrill ! 💕 Nothing brings me more joy than welcoming amazing guest chefs into our restaurants! One of the many perks of working for the Queen @mastercheftd ❤️

@chefshota and @chefkleeokc absolutely dazzled us, bringing their Japanese and Korean magic all the way to our Texas home! Those fresh-as-can-be fish goodies from @blue_ocean_mariculture Divine! And don’t even get me started on those melt-in-your-mouth Galbi short ribs that had everyone asking for seconds! 🤤

Feeling so blessed to create these delicious memories together! Can’t wait to see what tasty adventure we’ll cook up next - hope to see your smiling faces there! 🍽️✨
