Flashback to 2020 — a golden hour in Sonoma at my dear friend @dustinmeisels spot, recording an episode of @diariesfromtheunderground, a lovely project dreamt up by the one and only @alexhermanisdead and @leonmorleysax.

Deep into lockdown times, we were all a bit socially uncoordinated from all of the dis-t-dancing in our respective living rooms. But once we got together, the music started flowing, being around friends again and having good times, was precisely what we all needed. It rang especially true during this sunset B2B with my brother @shaneone5000.

The Rolling Hills, juicy jams and getting back into the saddle, made this one of my favorite memories from those strange times.

NEW MIX ALERT!! LINK IN BIO. This was a special one for me. Losing both parents a year apart has been rough. I took time off from playing music but coming back up for air with another opportunity to close out Sunset Campout—the best party in the world—with friends and family meant everything to me. Feels appropriate to post this one on Thanksgiving as I couldn’t be more grateful to have all you nice people in my life. As always, a huge thank you to Solar and Galen for having me back and all of the Campout team for making it happen. One of the best parts of this little corner of dance music is seeing where a shared love of music leads.

Sometimes it’s over a stack of records. Sometimes beneath a festival canopy. Sometimes on a dance floor at Sunset Campout.

That’s where our path first crossed with SHANE ONE.

Ask five people about Shane, and you’ll likely hear five different stories.

One first discovered him through PillowTalk. Another still talks about a sunrise somewhere in Croatia. Someone else swears by the set they caught at Sunset Campout years ago.

We thought it was about time our little room joined the conversation.

Raised in New York with roots in classical piano, @shaneone5000 has spent a lifetime following music wherever it leads. From PillowTalk to dance floors around the world, his journey has been shaped by curiosity, generosity, and an instinct for connecting people through records rather than chasing genres. Whether it’s soul, disco, house, or something wonderfully unexpected, Shane always seems to find exactly what the moment calls for.

Opening the evening is BENJI G, co-creator of LA’s beloved Body Wave. Raised in Los Angeles and deeply rooted in disco and house, @benjibodywave has quietly earned a reputation for impeccable taste and an uncanny knack for uncovering records that feel both familiar and entirely new. Funk, boogie, Balearic gems, deep house, and wonderfully off-center discoveries all find a home in his record bag. You get the sense that every record arrives with its own little story—and if you’re lucky, he’ll tell a few of them without ever saying a word.

Some pairings just make sense.

Shane brings the wisdom of countless dance floors traveled. Benji brings the excitement of the next great discovery.

Launching as a Summer/Fall residency series at @thesultanroom Rooftop, @pillowtalkmusic invites you into the world the band has always inhabited, where soulful connection, deep crate knowledge, and the irresistible pull of a packed dancefloor coexist without apology. Resident sets from PillowTalk’s own members, @mikeyliltello and @shaneone5000 anchor the series, joined by a handpicked rotation of local selectors and international guest DJs who share the same obsession with music that moves people.

For the first edition, they’ve invited Gadi Mizrahi a.k.a. @babyprince76 a Brooklyn-based DJ and producer who has been at the forefront of underground house music for over two decades. As co-founder of Wolf + Lamb Records and Double Standard Records, and creator of the legendary Marcy Hotel parties, Gadi has built a reputation for crafting deep, soulful sets that transform intimate spaces into transcendent experiences.

The sonic range is wide by design: sexy, soulful House; sun-faded Disco; Classics that never needed saving; Rare Groove finds that reward the curious; and late-night funk excursions that stretch toward morning. Every night is its own story, shaped by community, discovery, and the kind of taste that can’t be faked.

I’m over the moon to play Vacation in June and be part of this stellar lineup in a special NorCal setting curated by @groovewell_ .
