I spent this weekend in rooms full of creatives — consultants, artists, DJs, business owners, influencers etc.— and it reminded me how much environment shapes the way we connect.

As an environmental scientist🌍, I’m starting to explore how sustainability, cities, and creative spaces intersect in real life. Not from a place of knowing everything — but from observing, learning, and being present.

This felt like the beginning of something.

🚨125,000 ARCRES. That’s how much coastal marshland SpaceX just acquired in Vermilion Parish for its new $100 billion “Starbase Louisiana” spaceport near Pecan Island.

To put it in perspective, this project will take up nearly 16 to 17% of all available land acreage in that parish.

In 6 minutes we will talk about how it will impact that parish and what we can do.

This $100billion project will reshape those coastal marshes. What does that mean for our alligators, migratory birds, local farmers and clean water?

Can the community fight back?? Yes but it’s going to take a village to speak out.

🌿 Grocery shopping doesn’t have to be confusing.

One small thing I always check before buying produce?

The PLU sticker. It can tell you whether your fruits and veggies were sold as conventionally grown or organically grown.

🍎 4-digit code = conventionally grown
🍏 5-digit code beginning with 9 = organically grown

Organic isn’t always in everyone’s budget—and that’s okay. If you’re buying conventional produce, one of the best things you can do is wash it thoroughly before eating. A good rinse under running water, gently scrubbing firm produce, or soaking fruits and vegetables in a baking soda solution can help remove dirt and reduce some surface pesticide residues.
