I have been working for @roverdotcom for over three years and it is so much fun. My favorite thing is meeting a new client and being told that their cat(s) will likely hide and be afraid of a stranger… only to experience quite the opposite 😂 I have only had one cat out of 100+ visits that doesn’t care for me- but turns out she hates her owner too, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ by @shannon.d.slaughter

Today marks two years, 730 days, since my mom passed away. It’s interesting that the world continues on, people continue on with their life, but yet mine halted. My life will never be the same, nor will I. I also find it interesting that some people that my mom considered to be her friend, best friends even, that have not reached out to me since she died. Friends and also some family. Grieving people notice those things but I refuse to let that make me bitter. Losing my mom has definitely been the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced- especially when she was my person. I’ve needed her MORE than ever these past few months and thankfully, I do feel her presence at times and I still hear her voice in my head. While I am absolutely heartbroken today, I’m determined to find joy in something that she also did. I miss you mom… 😭 by @shannon.d.slaughter

365 days without my Jasmine, my boo boo, my sweet Jazzy gal. She was most certainly my soul dog. 12 years was not enough time with her but I’m thankful for what time we had together. She was there, by my side, for every major life event, good and bad. I promised her when I got her at 5 weeks and 6 days old that I would make sure she had the BEST life and would never suffer. I held my promise as much as it broke my damn heart to hold her in my arms until the end. She was certainly a once in a lifetime dog, the absolute best. Dobermans will always be my favorite breed, and in my opinion, the best dog and companion one could ever want. Jasmine, my sweet girl, I just know you are with my mom and waiting patiently for me to join you both. Soon, baby girl. by @shannon.d.slaughter

Today, my precious girl would have turned 13 years old. To simply say that I miss her is a great understatement. She was my soul dog and was there for the shaping years of my life along with the major loss of both of my parents. I consider myself super lucky to have known such love. Happy 4th (we think) Birthday to our darling girl, Dahlia. She is a lover of treats, especially baby carrots and cozy blankets.
