I fixed up my Dad's university jacket. Replaced tge cuffs and the collar and redid the lining... so it looks tge same as before basically, but without tge holes, rips and sweat marks! #sewingproject #textilesteacher #repurposed #slowfashion #repair #sustainablefashion by @shannon_freestone

My other wrap dress practice, using the great @debzdesignsnz pattern, this one is tge most similar to the original pattern. I made a warp-around dress. I used a great pattern from @debzdesignsnz and made a couple of hacks of my own to personalise it. The year 12s needed to make something with "advanced procedures" this has a lined pocket, a hip pocket and a mitred corner. Making exemplers. My year 10s were learning about pattern adaptation and making trackpants. I made a pair to show them sizing and some potential changes. I made it out of the "Road Cone Orange" sweat-shirting. On another project they experimented with Ice dye, so I used the left over dye to try and mute the rightness of this fabric...I feel they are now wearable!! :) #bestjobintheworld #textilesteacher #exemplarforstudents #sewingprojects by @shannon_freestone
