great power. great responsibility.

Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us into something better. 4 months ago I dreamed of becoming the ASUW President. Dreams only get you so far without the courage to chase them. I’d like to thank some people who lent me their strength.

First I’d like to thank my parents and my dog Simba for supporting me. I was going to graduate this quarter but I delayed it so I could fulfill this dream. Thank you to them for betting on me and giving me courage.

Next I’d like to thank my roommate, Nick, for our late night talks. What once started off as a simple conversation turned into one of the greatest experiences of my life.

I want to thank my good friend Avery for always cheering me on and having my back. Anytime I needed help he would be there (whether I was on crutches or if I wanted to grab Greek fries).

I would also like to thank the DawgPack and Sydney. I not only found friends but a family with them. I’m blessed for the opportunities they gave me and it helped me grow my confidence.

I’d like to thank my friends back home and my girlfriend Sofia. Any doubt that crept into my mind was always erased by the faith they had in me.

Lastly, I’d like to thank my team UW For You. This wouldn’t have been possible without our hard work, sleepless nights, and tired bodies. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people.

Last but not least, I want to thank all of YOU. This couldn’t have been possible without your support.

ASUW, I want to lead my term with this quote in mind. With great power comes great responsibility. Let’s get started.
