TRANSFORMATION :: at the start of 2024, when God dropped this word on my heart, I had no idea what I was in for. I invited and welcomed this word as a banner over my life with blind devotion. I thought I had a plan, an idea of where and how this word would play out in my life. But God knew so much better. And Oh! How I’ve already been surprised.
You see, in the past, God has dropped words on my heart. Words like: HOPE, RADIANCE, LEGACY, GATHER… and I haven’t always been so obedient.
I knew that this time God was inviting me to surrender.
And so I did. I surrendered and prayed that God would step into every piece of my life : every thought, every habit, every crack, transform them all and make me whole, radiant, full of faith and lifted in hope.
Still, I thought I had a plan. And still God knew better.
This year is only just beginning and already the work is being done.
I am so grateful. I am so hopeful. I am so expectant.
This is the year of transformation. And we are just getting started.

Every great story has a turning point,
An energetic shift to a moment of clarity
that leads to a rising action:
A point of transformation.

If you’re anything like me,
2023 was a year of beautiful highs, and woeful lows.
It stretched and pulled me and pushed me.

At the start of 2024, God gave me a word:
TRANSFORM.

This is a year of transformation,
a turning point where the energy has shifted,
and I can begin again,
with a radiant revival.

This year it’s time to RISE into the greatest story of our lives💗

I asked my daughter: “What is one word you think of when you think of me?”
She replied: “Effervescent.”

My heart instantly softened. A smile crept across my face & tears welled up in my eyes.

“You think I am effervescent?”
“Yes.”

I will never forget that moment. My daughter, through all we’d been through, through all my own stress, anxiety, depression, haze and fog and rage… saw an essence of me, a light in me. She saw a truth of my being - despite all the chaos.

Maybe it was a memory. Maybe it was a hope. Maybe it was simply how she saw me - no matter what. Maybe it was a bit of all of it. Maybe it was the truth of me returning.

10 months ago, I would not have seen or felt that effervescence. Truthfully, I know my daughter was hoping & praying for its return.

10 months ago, the conversation #sounded very different.

I had invested so much time and #energy into running & chasing a story I thought I was supposed to write
- one that was leaving me feeling more anxious, more stressed, more depressed, more enraged…
& leaving me with less joy, less peace, less life.

Chasing in circles on a path that left me lost. And it was causing me to miss not only the best parts of me, but the best moments with my daughter.

When God sent an interruption.
In what, at first sight, felt like a devastating way.

Sometimes it takes a drastic interruption. Sometimes God pointedly says, “No!”

And it is up to us to have faith that what was interrupted was not meant for us. That His “no” leads to an even greater YES! One immeasurably more abundant than we could have imagined…

We just have to follow that hope into faith to take the first step. To begin again.

Some might say I over romanticize everything,
Place too much emphasis on the details,

Here’s what I say…

I say, I love to seek beauty and dance with the rhythms in small moments and simple habits.
Embracing this may just spark embers of joy and hope, that then emblazon the fire of a radiant life.

Yes, it is important to not neglect the power of messy, to not get so caught up in the details that we lose sight of the immense beauty and larger moments around us.

But didn’t God put the most thoughtful, intentional artistry and love into every single detail of our being? If he dresses the lillies with beauty and splendor, is it not for us to adore and embrace that beauty in the detail of our lives and being?

I know, I know… this is just a silly, simple nothing fancy reel of myself making my coffee…

And still, even in this there is beauty and the chance to dance with the rhythms in small moments and simple habits.

Embracing this may just spark embers of joy and hope, that then emblazon the fire of a radiant life.

This is your one radiant life. Love it and live it like it’s the most beautiful thing you could imagine.

Ps. I know I could’ve or *should’ve* picked a “trending” audio. Instead, I chose to select an audio that’s part of a soundtrack of my life.
