I really liked the Distortus Rex design from JW Rebirth. Whoever worked on that is so good.

But what if we got to see a truly horrific JP movie treatment someday? Where the heroes actually get to fight back against the dinosaurs. I’d love that.

Space Hogz! 🥓🥓🥓🥓

Some work I did for Episode 5 of @praise.spaceking

@flashgitzdon had a very strong vision for these guys right out the gate and you can see it in his very first sketch (last slide). So these explorations didn’t end up moving the needle too much, but I had a great time working on this episode all the same. It’s one of the best yet. Congratulations to everyone who worked on it. Thanks for bringing me along for the ride T&D :)

These techniques have a kind of crudeness, or brutality to them. You’re literally cutting things up and smashing them together. The actual mode of execution is consistent with the horror subject matter. It’s high contrast, like old school, black and white horror movies and monster movies. You’re literally chopping shit up with a chainsaw, so to speak, where you’re acting as a kind of mad scientist.

It’s a wonderful thing when your subject matter is consistent with or in alignment with the mode of execution. This is one of the ways in which we begin to find style.

Dino horror from the livestream today. Built up on top of a spino chassis. Thanks a lot for hanging out. We talked about art school, mentorship, and probably too much about fishing.
