Headed to the gym for this full body session and I was able to do all the work, including the upper body portions without pain! I modified the pushups to scapular ones and took time to focus on form, keeping my shoulders quiet and engaging my back muscles. I didn’t get much sleep last night so I drank 1/4 of this Alani as a pre-workout of sorts and that helped a lot! Then my girl had a long break in between Nutcracker rehearsals, so we went and got lunch at Toastique - it was delish! Happy Halloween everyone! by @shapedbypurpose

A walk outside, even a quick 20 min one, makes a super busy day better! by @shapedbypurpose

Just finished this book and it’s exactly what I needed right now! The main takeaway is that I am on the right track by figuring out ways of eating that lead me to one goal - to nourish my body. Despite doing my best to follow macros, NSNG, attempting carnivore and then just being mindful - I’m still struggling with binge eating. Roth says that there is a non-food equivalent to these binges, in some way, I am disconnecting from my body’s cues or an unwanted emotion. I usually binge in response to a stressor or if Im feeling faint. In the end, this book helped me recognize that my longing for freedom from emotional eating is possible and that I can eat what I and my body actually want. (Pictured is the easy dinner I made in between kids activity drop offs and pick ups: Sloppy Joes, French fries, salad and we also had Oreo cookies after) #womenfoodandgod by @shapedbypurpose

Anyone else just love using stickers in their homeschool or for their journals, bible studies, etc..? Found some good ones at Five Below the other day. The book lovers one is super cute. by @shapedbypurpose

Sometimes you just want a bagel with peanut butter and banana with a heavy sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Yum. by @shapedbypurpose

It may have been the matching fit, it may have been the holiday vibes, or it may have been the fact that I can actually lift on leg days. No matter how late the workout ended up being, I got it done! #mondaymotivation #goodnight by @shapedbypurpose

Less shoulders, more lats #ptsession by @shapedbypurpose

Keeping the holiday fun going with CGXmas 2024! I am showing up, modifying when needed in order to keep the promise to myself and the woman I want to be. Staying active, eating healthy and being joyful in the moments ahead! #lifebelifing❤️ by @shapedbypurpose

PT update! 🩵 I had my first visit and actually got some really helpful answers. She tested my shoulder strength and said I’m **strong** with pressing movements 💪🏼 — so it’s not simply a strength issue.

She noticed I tend to use my shoulders/upper traps to compensate when I’m supposed to be using my back, and I also tend to hunch/shrug my shoulders. So we’re going to work on retraining my movement patterns and getting my shoulder blades to work the way they’re supposed to.

She did some dry needling on my upper traps (which currently feel VERY angry 😂), plus some band work, a doorway exercise, and an exercise on an incline bench.

Honestly, I’m feeling encouraged. I may need to modify my training for a while, but I’m glad I finally have a better understanding of what’s going on and a plan to work on it. ❤️‍🩹 by @shapedbypurpose

And just like that…CGXmas 2025 is complete! I loved how she said at the end that in these busy days, sometimes imperfect action is actually the perfect action! Thanks for a great series that kept the challenge, the festive fun and some surprises along the way!🎄 @carolinegirvan by @shapedbypurpose
