Today my brother and I paid tribute to our father by completing the 40th LA Marathon in his honor. If he were still present in the physical, today would’ve been his 40th LA Marathon as a legacy runner.

Your legacy continues through your children daddy. We love and miss you. The World will know your name.

My best friend, my protector, my provider, my first love, my greatest love, my greatest spiritual teacher, my daddy. I’m at a loss for words, my heartaches in a way I didn’t even know was possible. We fought with you until the very end, until your last breath. It has been a pleasure to be your baby girl, I would choose you over and over again in every lifetime. I love you always and forever. Rest In the Greatest Eternal Peace Daddy. I love you so much, so so so so very much. Thank you for all that you’ve taught me, all that you have given me, and future legacies to come. My children will be so blessed to have had an amazing human as their grandfather. I’m sad that they’ll never get to meet you, but they will know how outstanding you were. You gave me everything, and I couldn’t have asked for a more exceptional daddy. I will continue to love, soar, and shine for you.

…and I remember, being at the precipice of this grief, believing that my relationship with joy was over. But on this journey nature has revealed that if the sun can rise every morning, then so can I.

…to be reminded that on the journey of compound loss, grief and joy have no option but to co-exist, and when I forget, the sun enlightens me. So mystic how these two paradoxical Worlds collide. What an anomaly I was called to embrace 🤲🏾🌱.
