One of my favorite episodes of Season 1 of ANY DAY NOW. Jasmine Guy guest starred as my ‘Aunt Kiki’ who came to town being unapologetically herself — and getting Rene caught up in the frenzy. Had fun filming this one.

Love to you, @iamjasmineguy. 🫶🏽 by @sharidyon

Shades of the Blues Fundraising Mixer 🩵💙

I’m not an alumna, but I’m a proud supporter of Spelman College and my favorite Spelman woman, my mom.

I’m equally proud to invest in the next generation of Spelman women — 16 from my community — as they pursue higher education at the No. 1 HBCU.

May their dreams be big, and their possibilities be limitless. 💫 by @sharidyon

I was at the museum recently, casually observing a shoot.

As I watched it unfold, I couldn’t help but reflect on how, more than a decade ago, I stood in that same museum under very different circumstances. Back then, I was working in broadcast journalism, often behind the camera — helping tell stories.

This chapter of my life has been about working with young artists—helping them find their voices and tell their own stories through movement.

It’s funny how life brings you back to the same place, only to remind you of how much has changed.

Chapters change. Each one serves a purpose. 💫 by @sharidyon

June — Spotting JOY in sunsets, cups of coffee, rest and stillness, fresh flowers, moments with the people I love most, and the FREEDOM to enjoy it all. ✨ by @sharidyon

Another year wrapped.

Another group of young dancers growing — not just in skill, but in confidence, resilience and possibility.

Another reminder that this work is bigger than me.

I missed World Theatre Day yesterday, but it feels right to throw it back to this one.

@joeturnerbway has brought back a flood of memories, and reminded me why this piece and playing the role of Zonia Loomis will always hold such a special place in my heart.

Didn’t know it then, but life was about to shift in ways that I would have never imagined. 🤍

“Monica Ikegwu: Through The Veil” at The Columbus Museum.

Grateful to share movement and dance as part of this weekend’s public celebration of this powerful exhibition. Proud of my girls — so open and talented and beautiful. 💙✨
