Arriving at Precipice Lake was easily one of the highlights of the High Sierra Trail.

After a grueling day on the trail, finally reaching the lake and setting up camp just before sunset felt like a real treat. Tired legs, incredible views, and one of those moments that makes every hard mile worth it.

I can’t wait to share the full day-by-day story of our 6-day, 72-mile trek across the High Sierra through Sequoia National Park. 🏔️🥾

Progress is progress. 🔧😅

The Bronco II is fighting me with rust, dust, and debris straight to the eyes… so maybe safety glasses should be next on the build list. 😂

But the skid plate is OFF, the tow hitch is out of the way, and the new gas tank from @jeffsbroncograveyard is here.

Time to keep moving. 💪🏼

Some cars never really leave the fam.

This Bronco II is more than just a car, it’s part of my childhood. We grew up riding in it, and it was my first car in high school - the Beast lol.

Selling it in 2023 was a hard decision, but at the time, I had to let it go. I asked the new owners to please give me the first opportunity to buy it back if they ever decided to sell.

In 2025, I got the call! To my surprise, it was still almost exactly as I had left it. I couldn’t say no.

Now, three years after selling it, we’re officially starting the restoration. My daughter already knows it will be hers one day, and we can’t wait to bring it back to life and keep creating memories together.

2023 → 2025 → 2026. The Bronco II story continues.

One of the most unexpected highlights of hiking the 72-mile High Sierra Trail from Sequoia National Park to Mt. Whitney was the incredible variety of wildflowers along the way. 🌸🏔️

I couldn’t help but stop and appreciate them. I was amazed by the vibrant colors at high elevations, surrounded by granite peaks, alpine lakes, forests, and rugged landscapes. Every section of the trail had a different backdrop and a new blooms. So DOPE

New shoes, who dis? Got some new tires for the beast today. I need to get the project going again since I bought it back… a year ago!
It’s been sitting on the same 23 year old tires, flat, how sad!
This new look got me motivated. So much so that I got a new battery to. And yes, it started up!! Cranked it, it idled a little rough - so still have a ways to go.
BUT we got some new shoes to cruise when it’s ready.
FAMILY 🏕️ 🚙 here we come!

Here’s a late photo dump from the High Sierra Trail to Mount Whitney. 6 days, 72 miles, 14.5 ft elevation.

This was easily one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done in my life physically and mentally. I don’t recommend it LOL… but I absolutely will never regret it.

I couldn’t be more grateful to two of my best friends, @m_serrano04 and @jeys0n , for trekking through it with me. We kept each other focused, in good spirits, and moving forward when things got tough.

I’m also incredibly grateful to my beautiful wife, @dilagtz , for all her support and encouragement, and for holding it down back home with Dulce, my loves. And thank you to all of my family and friends who checked in, encouraged me, and supported me before and after the trip.

One of the things that amazed me most was the wide range of people we met along the trail, people taking on the same journey, and others pushing through even more strenuous 200+ mile treks. It was a great reminder not to judge a book by its cover. People are capable of some incredible things.

These are just a few of my favorite views and moments from the journey. There’s so much more to share, so stay tuned.

Took the @naturehike_ins Cloud Up 1-person tent ⛺️ up to San Gorgonio. It was a great test run for what’s to come… the 7 day 70 mile trek from Sequoia to Mt Whitney. I was happy with the tent, looking forward to put it through the next adventure.
