To coincide with our current show NEIGHBORHOOD, we have 3 of our incredibly talented artists giving an artist talk about their works, their process and what it’s like to be an artist in Sydney’s Inner West.
Featured artists talks will include @georgiahillbth , @sarsar and @sharonbillinge and hosted by our curators, @funskull and @thomasjjackson all in the ANYWHERE gallery space in @wicksplace

Artist talks on the 5th September from 2-4pm.
Limited spots so please make sure you get in early.

Introducing British born, local Inner West based artist Sharon Billinge ( @sharonbillinge ) and her work titled ‘Iggy’.

Sharon is known for her small to large scale community driven murals throughout Sydney, and has exhibited paintings in both commercial and artist run spaces throughout Australia.

Recent illustrations for a very special project I did with @artofpei in Chinatown Sydney. I realise I don’t post a lot of my work as it seems too hard (or a bit boring) So this is me throwing this up and hoping I get to explain it at a later date!!!

Some more of my Shellharbour bus shelter illustrations. While I was making these I was thinking about time I had spent as a teenager sitting with friends at bus stops and how sweet it seemed when looking back at those moments. I tried to get a project like this going in Sydney but after a few years trying we couldn’t get it up and running 😭. Was good to get the opportunity in Shellharbour ❤️@shellharbourcitycouncil @artin_unexpectedplaces @ by @sharonbillinge

🎨Art in Unexpected Places 🚌

Our newest Art in Unexpected Places installation is here, with stunning new artworks by award-winning artist @sharonbillinge popping up in bus shelters across the city. Known for her collaborative approach, Sharon works closely with communities to create murals and artworks that reflect local history, shared experiences, and social themes.

This program supports local creatives, makes art accessible to everyone, and brightens up the daily commute.
