The Singing Ship at Emu Park from a different perspective. I was down towards the shoreline, when I turned around and saw the beautiful side-light as it lit up the trees and hit the monument. ⁣
⁣
I absolutely love the little coastal town of Emu Park. It’s a popular spot, but with a more relaxing vibe and far less of the manic, tourist bustle. ⁣

I grabbed a few frames of these lads while they were hanging out and fishing off the rocks. But this….as they were heading home in that glorious golden light, just wow! ⁣

I definitely prefer that sweet light of the golden hour. I think it’s even better than a colourful sky 😊. ⁣

Our first sunrise attempt over the weekend was a complete bust. Setting the alarm for 4:20pm will do that! ⁣

Day 2 was much more successful. Following a brief shower of rain we were rewarded with a stunning, moody sky with just the right amount of colour. ⁣

Waterpark Creek in Byfield National Park was a mass of gorgeous, vivid green and mirror reflections. It’s a beautiful spot with endless compositional opportunities and hundreds of March Flies to keep us company. ⁣

I was watching a YouTube video on “Hyperlocalism” which explained how to make the most out of shooting your local area frequently, without it getting boring, or just more of the “same ol’, same ol”. ⁣
⁣
During the posting process, I am absolutely convinced that this photograph definitely looks better on a large screen. I already suspect the algorithm will give me grief over it, but I’ll give it a shot and see how it goes. ⁣

In what can only be described as a coup; I actually took the camera for a walk over the weekend. ⁣
It’s been a while. ⁣

It’s very dry here; (not even summer yet 🙁). Everything is brown and crunchy and dead. The local wildlife perseveres though and it’s rumoured to rain this week. Let’s hope so. ⁣
