When Opera Meets Hip-Hop 🎶🔥

I had the pleasure of seeing the incredibly talented @babatunde_hiphopera perform @citywinerynyc on Sunday, and he was absolutely amazing!

His unique blend of opera and hip-hop—known as Hip Hopera—is powerful, creative, and unforgettable. After the show, he was gracious enough to take this photo with me, which made the evening even more special.

There’s nothing like standing on a New York City subway platform and watching that train pull into the station. 🚇🔥

The lights hit the tunnel first, then the sound rolls in, then the whole city shows up in motion. I caught a cool video of one coming in, and honestly, it reminded me why NYC has always been bigger than transportation.

The subway connects the blocks. The blocks shape the culture. The culture moves the market.

From hip hop legends riding the train with dreams in their headphones, to real estate investors watching neighborhoods grow stop by stop, the subway is one of New York’s greatest storytellers. Every station has a rhythm. Every line has history. Every borough has value.

Real estate is about location, but in New York, location is also sound, movement, access, and energy. And nobody captured that energy like hip hop.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend NJ Transit’s Land Plan Industry Day, and it was exciting to learn more about the commercial and residential real estate opportunities being developed near NJ Transit stations.

What stood out to me most were the opportunities around 34th Street Bayonne on the HBLR and Union City – Bergenline Avenue. With access to NYC in about 30 minutes, these locations make living, working, and investing in New Jersey even more attractive.

I also had the chance to connect with architects, cost estimators, city planners, and other industry professionals. In addition to development opportunities, there were also leasing opportunities for entrepreneurs interested in purchasing franchises like Chipotle and bringing more amenities to transit-accessible communities.

For real estate developers looking to expand their portfolio without spending hours driving in traffic, transit-oriented development in New Jersey is worth a serious look.

Spent the day in the East Village showing an apartment to a relocation client from London—one of my favorite parts of this work is helping people find their place in a city that means so much to me.

Afterward, I found myself walking past NYU, my alma mater. It brought back so many memories—growth, discovery, and the foundation for the path I’m on today.
