I realise I’m slightly late in posting about this but I’m incredibly excited to be returning to “ Love Never Dies in Concert” at the iconic @thelondonpalladium this October. Three years ago I directed the @whatsonstage award-winning 2023 concert production at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane and this time I promise so many new surprises as we revisit the “Beauty Underneath”.

“Love Never Dies” is one of @andrewlloydwebber grandest and most melodic scores and our spectacular cast lead by @jamiemuscato, @celindeschoenmaker, @gblagden, @courtneyjstapes and @mazzmurray will set it ablaze. This October “The Phantom of the Opera” @phantomopera celebrates its 40th Anniversary and I am so proud that we are part of the celebrations of that landmark event. This is made even more special for me because 40 years ago, school boy Shaun was working front of house when Phantom opened. I saw the show in rehearsal, in preview and its legendary Opening Night. Now 40 years later I am directing the shows sequel for a glorious run at The London Palladium - the theatre where I made my West End debut. School boy Shaun could only have dreamed of such a thing. Ten years ago, I directed this beautiful show, and the experience remains a seminal one for me. The rehearsal room was filled with love, inspiration, and tears.

The real magic happened when this extraordinary cast and creative team handed that work over to the audiences at @ogunquitplayhouse, who responded night after night with an outpouring of emotion.

This production was one of 10 shows I’ve had the privilege to direct at Ogunquit Playhouse, and the connection it created has endured. When I returned last year to direct Titanic, people were still talking about this show, something that moved me more than I can say.

8 years ago, Shaun Kerrison and I started researching and writing a musical about The Osmond Family.
4 years ago, our show opened and toured the UK for a year, with a superbly skilled cast, band, crew and creative team telling this extraordinary showbiz story and performing the very demanding music and choreography night after night.
Next year, our show premieres in North America! How ‘bout that?!

I had a Dickens of a few days with a few “Oliver Twist” locations. Here are Nancys steps…the steps are a relic of old London Bridge and are the place where Bill murders Nancy in the novel. Earlier in the week I also popped into “The One Tun”, a pub on Saffron Hill ( itself the location of Fagins Den ). “The One Tun” was made legend by Dickens under a different name … “The Three Cripples”. by @shaunkerrison

I have loved the musical TITANIC since I saw the original production in 1997. That show made this grown man cry. It still does. I have always loved theatre that moves me. I am thrilled to be returning to Ogunquit Playhouse, a theatre that feels like home, with a staff and crew of creatives who have become like family. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to bring shows to this fabled stage that carry an epic emotional sweep. Some have made you laugh, and many—Les Misérables, South Pacific, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame—have moved audiences deeply. I hope this show will sit proudly among them. I trust it will. We have all loved exploring this extraordinary story through Maury Yeston and Peter Stone’s beautiful writing.Sail on, sail on, great ship Titanic. Unpack those tissues and enjoy! You all know how this one ends.Thank you for welcoming me home. Titanic will be running from 2nd October to 2nd November. taken in Ogunquit Playhouse by @shaunkerrison

Spotlight on Director Shaun Kerrison!

At the helm of our great ship TITANIC, is dear friend Shaun Kerrison returning! Shaun is no stranger to Ogunquit Playhouse having directed multiple productions here including Murder on the Orient Express (2019) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (2016). He also directed productions on Broadway and The West End including Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, and the concert version of Love Never Dies. We cannot wait for Shaun to come back home!
