Blessed Feast of the Guardian Angels.

The Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day [or night], be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen. by @shaunmcafee

Prayer to the Three Archangels
Heavenly King,
You have given us archangels to assist us
during our pilgrimage on earth.

Saint Michael is our protector;
I ask him to come to my aid,
fight for all my loved ones,
and protect us from danger.

Saint Gabriel is a messenger of the Good News;
I ask him to help me clearly hear Your voice
and to teach me the truth.

Saint Raphael is the healing angel;
I ask him to take my need for healing and that of everyone I know,
lift it up to Your throne of grace and
deliver us back to the gift of recovery.

Help us, O Lord, to realize more fully the reality of archangels and their desire to serve us.

Holy angels, pray for us.

Amen. by @shaunmcafee

Every story we share about a modern saint, blessed, or venerable is an invitation into holiness; if those stories have blessed you, please help us keep extending that invitation. Link in Bio!

Two saints. Two missions. One Gospel. St. Augustine of Hippo spent years searching for truth and discovering that the human heart remains restless until it rests in God. His life reminds us not to drown that restlessness in distractions, but to let it draw us toward the Lord. More than a century later, St. Augustine of Canterbury left Rome to bring the Gospel to the Anglo-Saxons, reminding us that the Faith is meant to be shared. One Augustine teaches us to look inward and ask whether our hearts truly rest in God; the other challenges us to look outward and help others find that same rest. by @shaunmcafee

St. Lawrence wasn’t named by the church as the patron of comedians merely because he was funny but because he took a lowly situation and created joy that reflects supernatural virtue.

Likewise, all Christians are called to endure hardship with joy, even persecution with gentleness and peace.

Saint Lawrence, pray for us. #catholic #saint #deacon #christian by @shaunmcafee

Every saint who fell deeply in love with the Eucharist was transformed by the same reality: Jesus Christ is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Whether through courageous martyrdom, tireless evangelization, fearless trust, or humble daily worship, their lives proclaimed that the Eucharist is the source of holiness and strength. Their example invites us to receive Holy Communion with greater reverence, spend time in Eucharistic Adoration, and allow Christ’s presence to shape every part of our lives. The greatest tribute we can offer these saints is not admiration alone, but the decision to draw closer to Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist, every day.

If the lives of these saints inspire you, you’ll find many more stories of Eucharistic faith in Compendium of Eucharistic Miracles, by @shaunmcafee - available from TAN Books. by @shaunmcafee

Ever noticed that Saint Dominic's feast is sort of all over the beginning of August? This is one of those interesting things about the history of the liturgucal calendar: when should we celebrate this saint or that basilica, or this biblical event? Poor Saint Dominic has been tossed all around, but he landed (for now) on 8 August.

If you and your family want to know more about Dominic, why he is so special and how we received the rosary, please check out my book: Saint Dominic and the #Rosary - part of the @tan_books #Saints and #Sacramentals series. (LINK IN BIO) by @shaunmcafee

Today is the day. After years of research, writing, and prayer, Compendium of Eucharistic Miracles is officially available. (links at bottom)

May this book lead many people closer to Jesus in the Eucharist, and may we receive the Eucharistic miracles we are all praying for in our time of divine assistance.

The Eucharist is the greatest gift in the world. But throughout history, God has occasionally given extraordinary signs that invite us to look more deeply at this profound mystery.

From ancient accounts in Italy to modern investigations around the world, Eucharistic miracles have challenged skeptics, strengthened believers, and reminded generations of Catholics that Christ’s words are true: "This is my body."

This book is more than a collection of extraordinary stories. It is a journey through the mystery of the Eucharist itself—from the Old Testament figures and foreshadowing that prepared the way, to the Institution Narrative of the New Testament, the theological development of Eucharistic doctrine throughout the centuries, the Church’s defense of the Real Presence against heresies, and her calm, beautiful guidance on how we are called to adore and live in devotion to this most precious gift.

My hope is that this book draws hearts back to the wonder, reverence, and love that should surround the Blessed Sacrament. Thank you to everyone who prayed for this project, encouraged me, reviewed drafts, shared my work, and helped bring this book to life.

Medicine is always bitter. Physical therapy is always painful. Even after the treatment, our bodies sometimes never fully recover.

The Divine Healer is different. His medicine often feels as though it cannot be swallowed. His therapy as if it cannot be survived. But unlike earthly physicians, Christ never fails to accomplish His purpose. His work is always efficacious.

The wind, the fire, the earthquake—remember that the Lord was in none of these (1 Kings 19:11–12). Yet He used them to bring Elijah to the place where he could finally hear the still, small voice. So too, the Lord often permits suffering to quiet the noise within us. Only then, when we have become still enough to listen, does He speak to the deepest wounds of the soul.

We often ask God to remove the suffering, while He is intent on healing the wound beneath it. Our flesh longs for what is immediate and comforting. The Lord’s treatment, however, is rarely comfortable, and true healing often takes time. It strips away pride, exposes old injuries, uncovers habits we defended for years, and teaches us to accuse ourselves before accusing another. There are days when the treatment seems almost too much to bear, when every instinct tells us to quit.

But grace is not measured by comfort. It is measured by conversion.

My friends, stay on the table. Trust the Divine Healer, and know that the hands that heal our wounds are the same hands that were pierced for our salvation. Unite your sufferings to His, persevere through the therapy He has prescribed, and let Him finish the good work He has begun in you. by @shaunmcafee
