I graduated university at 24.

From the time I walked across that stage, the life that was assigned to me by the elders was about to begin. I foolishly bought a new car because, "I would have a new job soon".

Yeah, that never happened.

For two years I struggled until one day, a friend asked if I wanted to teach in South Korea. At first, I resisted and wanted to toughen it out.

But life made it VERY clear what was "planned" for me was never going to happen.

"Bust it, let's ball" I said as I got on the plane to Suwon, South Korea.

Had no idea what to expect going to a foreign land but at that point, anything else was better than what I was doing.

Being in S. Korea quickly showed me how out of my element I was from reality and humbled me a bit. Still, it was a much needed escape from the typical and I am grateful for all that happened.

Though I returned to the states once, I couldn't get rid of the itch to travel and build a life elsewhere.

I later went to Japan, Taiwan, and Canada. I also grew my travel YouTube channel and gained a following.

While doing all of this, I realized I could do this full-time and teach others how to do the same!

People reached out to me to ask how to travel because they were too afraid to. I'm still humbled by others wanting advice based on my experiences.

Through it all, doing this and building a legacy is better than building spreadsheets at an office. by @shaunonsite85

I visited @paxtopheles in Seattle, Washington and told him I wanted to see Bruce & Brandon Lee's graves. Growing up, my dad and I always watched Enter The Dragon and I always wanted to visit his grave. Doing things like that with my dad always brought us close. We loved watching old kung fu movies and Bruce was no exception.

The fact a lot of his methods can still be applied to life says a lot about the legacy he left. Not only that, many people are still fans of Bruce today. His son Brandon was beginning a legacy of his own but his life was also sadly cut short.

Nevertheless, the lesson one could take from all of this is to never take life for granted.

People say a lot about Jay Park @moresojuplease but he was nothing but cool to me.

When I first met him, I was working as a K-pop reporter. I went inside of the bar he was set to perform at later that night and got a glimpse of rehearsals. I knew who he was through his time on SNL Korea and my students and co-workers talking about him but I really wasn't THAT familiar with him.

Sure enough when he was finished, he and I chatted for a bit and he was the most chill dude around. While we were talking, he noticed my credentials and asked, "Do you know where Kendrick Lamar is? I want to meet that dude!". I sadly didn't know (cause believe you me, I would have helped) but it was cool to see a Korean dude into K. Lamar.

All in all, Jay Park is cool in my book. I don't care what others say about him.
