Last time I shared any real update about my life was 4+ years ago.

I ended 2021 completely lost, not knowing what to do. I decided to write a book - got halfway through - but ultimately failed. Burned out, we took our 8-month-old son, left Ukraine, and moved to Thailand.

That’s when the war started.
In search of the “perfect future,” we bounced across countries. From Thailand to Portugal, Portugal to the UK, UK to the USA, then back to the UK… before circling back to Southeast Asia again.

We had incredible highs and crushing lows. Crazy good times, crazy bad times. Along the way we made two more kids, grew a business to 35 people (and shrank it back down 😂), joined a startup, sold a startup >>> and yet, through it all, we spent every day waiting.

On standby.
On pause.
Always expecting the perfect moment to restart life.

Few days ago, I woke up and realized - my “8-month-old son” just had his first day of school. So-called “standby mode” never really worked. Searching for your path in life… might be that IS THE PATH on its own?!

Life wasn’t on pause - I was.

Fuck it, I thought.

My friends recently asked - “why do we need kids?” (ie what are the pros? benefits? what is this big secret no parent can explain to non-parent?)
There are no benefits.
Having kids is terrible. One of the hardest if not the hardest experience I had in my life. No pros. No bonuses. No weekends. No free time. No self time. Hard to mix with work. Hard to mix with anything.
Just.
Hard.
If you can - don’t do kids. Enjoy your life.
If you are like me - with the whole pack of kids - disregard everything I said above and… well… Enjoy your life as well!! Or die trying! Haha by @shaversky

В мене є друг Гєна.
Я любив ходити до нього в затишний барбершоп в центрі міста.
У Гєни ми вперше підстригли мого сина. І вдруге.
Іноді ми пили віскі.
Іноді - говорили за життя.
Іноді - брили мене налисо.
«Ігорян, під 0.3?! Ти впевнений?? Ну чому ж буде не гарно. Все може бути гарно - головне робити так, як тобі хочеться.»
Прості дрібниці, які тоді не здавалися такою розкішшю.
Сьогодні Гєна на війні.
На авдіївському напрямку.
І кожна дрібниця для Гєни - це питання життя і смерті. Ми з анонімним клубом закрили всі нелегальні потреби / дрібниці і тепер просимо допомоги в закритті потреб легальних.
Потрібно 130К гривень на:
⛽️ дві тонни палива і
🧑‍🔧 ремонт ходової машини, яка щодня працює на нулі.

Кожна гривня matters 🙏 дякую
