One simple line can help move a sales conversation forward: “Here’s what we’re going to do.”

First, listen to the customer and acknowledge their concerns. Then offer a practical next step that makes sense for their situation.

Great salespeople don’t just know what to say. They’re teachable, honest, willing to work hard, and committed to getting better.

I was mentoring a guy in sales the other day. He was getting permission every step of the way.

Your client was in charge, not you. You were asking for their permission constantly.

Anytime a client believes you need this sale, you are in trouble. It changes the dynamic.

If a prospect requested information, you’re not randomly interrupting them. You’re following up on something they asked for.

Stay calm, explain why you’re calling, and don’t let someone else’s frustration make you question your role. If the timing is bad, find a better time to talk.
