6 years ago today, I did something that scared me… I chose myself 🥹

I left corporate at 26 without having every detail figured out. I just knew I wanted MORE out of my life.

More room to become HER.

And whewww… the last 6 years have stretched me, humbled me, grown me and blessed me in ways 26-year-old Shay couldn’t have imagined.

It wasn’t always easy. It still isn’t. But I’d choose this life — and choose myself — all over again.

I kept waiting to feel ready… but “ready” never came.

What came was a decision—to move while I was nervous, learn as I went and trust the woman I was becoming. 💕

I wasn’t ready when I invested my first $200.
I wasn’t ready for my first client.
I wasn’t ready to lead a team.
And I definitely didn’t feel ready to leave corporate.

But every time I moved before I felt prepared, I gave myself new evidence that I was capable.

Confidence didn’t come before the action. It came because I took action. ✨

Part 2 of 3: Stop waiting for fear to disappear. Clarity comes from movement.

I once heard, “Listen to those you would trade bank accounts with.”

Army veteran. Homeschooling mom. Surrogate mother. My coach, Latashia Alexander, had every reason to give up, but she kept fighting—and somewhere along her journey, she helped me find my fight, too.

So when Tashia took me under her wing in 2022, I listened. I asked questions. I soaked up everything I could. She never made me feel small for wanting to learn. No question was a dumb question to her.

I just knew I didn’t want be in Corporate America again!

Little by little, I began to grow. I believed in the vision even before I could fully see it.

One of the greatest lessons she taught me? Your gift isn’t just for you. It’s for the people you’re meant to serve 🙏🏽

And all along, I had it in me. The leadership, the experience, the skills I developed in corporate… I didn’t realize I could pour those same gifts into MY business, MY growth, and MY legacy.

Tashia, thank you for helping me discover what I already carried. Thank you for answering the questions, pouring into me, and believing in me through the moments when I didn’t even want to put one foot in front of the other.
