I Am My Father’s Son 🤲🏽 Imam Jamil Al-Amin 🕊️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

So…before I pop back up talking about business, community building, and personal, physical and economic development like life hasn’t been LIFE-ING 😂, I wanted to tell y’all where I’ve been.

The last year has forced me to process more than I was honestly prepared for.

Losing my father.
Fighting for him up to and through his death
Seeing relationships and people differently.
Reconciling what I believed with what people actually showed me.
And learning that grief isn’t just sadness. Sometimes it’s anger, disappointment, clarity, gratitude, exhaustion, and growth all occupying the same space.

I’m still working through it. I probably will be for a long time.

But I’m here.

Still creating. Still building. Still fighting. Still finding reasons to laugh. Still trying to turn everything I’ve experienced into something meaningful.

This video is not a request for sympathy. I’m doing ok, I promise. Just an honest update for the people who care about…me 🙏🏽

Ok 😮‍💨, Now that I’ve cleared my chest a little, we can get back to the regularly scheduled programming 😌

I have a lot to share with y’all.

But first, this is where I’ve been. Bismillah 🤲🏽 by @shaykhri

Some of the main topics of conversation between my father and me, aside from basketball #BallIsLife 😂, were self-discipline, community, and personal development.

What happened in the past.
What went right.
What went wrong.
Leadership criteria.
And what it would actually take to build something stronger moving forward.

Those conversations changed as I got older and gained enough experience to better understand what he was trying to impart.

One lesson has become especially clear:

We cannot build thriving communities without developing the builders first.

That’s why so much of what I’m working on these days centers around personal, physical, and economic growth.

Not because personal success is the end goal,

But because disciplined, well-rounded individuals are better equipped to build strong families, sustainable institutions, and thriving communities.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what that looks like in practice.

Now I’m ready to see it in action. Again, we are just getting started.

Black Power leaders H. Rap Brown & Stokely Carmichael (Kwame Ture) sharing laughs and jokes together (wait until the end) 🫶🏽😊

Yesterday marked what would have been the 83rd birthday of H. Rap Brown, known as Imam Jamil Al-Amin.

We commemorate the life and legacy of Imam Jamil, who died in prison in November of last year after years of medical neglect by the system, including the neglect of a large tumor on his face that ultimately developed into Stage Four cancer.

Imam Jamil was wrongfully imprisoned for over 25 years after being targeted by the state for decades, first as a Black revolutionary during the Civil Rights era, and later as a Muslim leader and advocate for human rights.

We pray that Imam Jamil and his family receive justice, and for the freedom of all political prisoners.

Your first birthday without you here. Almost a year later and I’m still figuring out how to navigate that.

My father. My hero. My teacher. I’m still learning from you, even now.

I miss you more than I can express in words but I’m gonna find my peace, Inshallah. Rest well and know that I still got you. The struggle continues, and the promises I made still stand.

May Allah grant you a spacious grave, peace, and the highest rank in Jannah. Ameen.

Happy birthday, Pop. I love you. 🤲🏽 by @shaykhri

Why start from scratch if you don’t have to?

Poor does not equal pious ❌

Economic self-development is important. That’s why the internet is flooded with “gurus” promising to make everyone a millionaire by next Thursday 😂

An extra $10,000 may not make you rich, but it can help you pay down debt, invest in your family, fund an idea, handle an emergency or just buy back some of your time.

That matters 🎯

I believe a lot of people are sitting on valuable skills, knowledge, and expertise without realizing they can build additional income around what they already know.

That’s why my goal is more grounded: help 1,000 people add an extra $10,000 to their income over the next 12 months.

That starts with my Free Halal Money Online $10K Offer Creation Workshop. Let’s turn what you already know into a real offer capable of earning your first $10,000 online.

Comment HALAL below and I’ll DM you the link. No strings attached.

Bismillah. Let’s build something meaningful. #HalalMoneyOnline 🤲🏽 taken in Las Olas by @shaykhri

The Way of Wade 12 is the GOAT 🐐

Jordan 28, take a seat because Zoom durability disqualified you 😂

This shoe saved my life.

I already thought the WOW 12 was probably the best shoe I’ve ever played in, which is why I own 3 pairs. But this tournament solidified it.

I rolled my ankle in the 2nd game of the @nationalmuslimbasketballtour and you can literally see in the video the lateral flange catch the floor and resist the shoe continuing to roll.

I went on to play 5 more games and win a championship 🏆

That really sums up the WOW 12. It does EVERYTHING it’s supposed to do at an elite level.

TRACTION: 10/10
Elite. If the court is filthy, get some dirty-court shoes 😂 You wouldn’t drive F1 tires down a street full of potholes.

CUSHION/RESPONSIVENESS: 10/10
Bouncy, protective, great court feel AND light. Zero break-in time. Out the box ready to perform.

SUPPORT: 10/10
My ankle can attest 😂 No heel slippage, fantastic lockdown and THAT FLANGE 😮‍💨 These are the AllState of hoop shoes. You’re in good hands 🤲🏽

FIT: 10/10
True to size for me. I wear a 13 and every pair has fit perfectly. Basically WOW 10s with stat boosts and without the foot fatigue from that aggressive shank.

MATERIALS: 10/10
Whatever Li-Ning cooked up with this upper is next level. Hugs your foot, doesn’t hurt, doesn’t crease. Steph chose Li-Ning for a reason. I can’t wait to see what they build for him.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Buy them.

They’re expensive, but they’re worth it and they LAST. If you’re serious about your game, do your feet and legs a favor and cop a pair.

I’ll drop my Volanti review later this week because they’re my under-$200 outdoor/dirty-court champions.

After that, I’m done reviewing shoes until I find something that beats one of these 🎯🐐 by @shaykhri
